Present Mayor ,Clerk ,Ald Ambrose, Harding ,Llassie,Stephens ,Wages , Absent Ald Ham.
The minutes of the previous meetings was read and approved.
Mr.Tom Taylor appeared before the Council asking for a donation for a bridge at East
Fayetteville, after some discussion the matter was deferred until the Council could
get more information in regard to some work the Street Commis ioner did on the
street leading to the bridge.
Iair. M. Baum appeared before the Council asking for a permit to movtj a house on to
a lot on'Highland Ave and to build a room or too to same, whereupon Ali Massie moved
that the Council grant a permit to Mr. Baum, which was duly sec by Ald Ambrose, resulted
in the following vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding,Lfassie,Stephens,:Vages, Nayes none,Absent
and not voting Ald Ham, Mayor declared the motion adopted.
Lir.Hawkins appeared before the Council asking that the Council take steps to allow
the Taxi Car Owners to get increased r$kx fares for hauling passengers, no action was
taken at this time.
Ald Harding moved that the reports of the various City Officals for the month of
September that have been O.K. by the Finance Committee be received and filed, which was
duly sec by Ald Llassie, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding.Massie,
Stephens,Vrages,Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Ham,Mayor declared the motion
adopted.
The Finance Committee handed in the following reports to -crit:
Police Judge Fines Col $186.55 Street Tax Col $2.66, Total Amt Col ti;188.55 „ City Collector
Street Fund 5�382.00,Genl Fund $507.05,City Clerk License Issued $238.25, Auto License

Expended for September $820.00
Ald Harding moved to allow the accounts against the City for the month of September
that have been O.K. by the Auditing Committee, and Clerk draw warrants for same, which
was duly sec Y by Ald Wages, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ali Ambrose,Harding,
Massie, Stephens, Wages,Nayes none, Absent and not voting Ald Ham,Mayorz declared the
motion adopted"k,
The Auditing/.handed in the following accounts, to -wit:

The Council recommended that the City Collector sign up for the Light account and
keep same to apply on the Pole License that is due the City.
Ali Harding moved that the Council appoint Marshall Douglas and Leland Bryan as
Commissioners for East Lafayette Avenue Improvement District Number One, in the
place of J.J.Baggett who is now deceased and C.A.Liullaholland who has moved away
from the City, this motion was duly sec by Ali Massie, resulted in the following
vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding,i..la.ssie,Stephens.lilages,Nayes none,Absent and not voting
Ald Ham, I.ayor declared the motion adopted:

uld Harding moved that the reports be referred to the Finance Comittee for investigation
which .ias duly sec by Ald CJages, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Ham,
Harding,i.Iassie,Stephens ,Vlages,Nayes none,Absent and not voting none, ilyor declared
the motion adopted.
The following accounts against the City for the month of October was read to -wit:

The question of the salary of the Nogl= Ym Night Policeman came up before the Council
after some discussion Ald Ambrose moved that the Salary of the Night Policeman be the
sum of N60.00 per month per month beginning October 1st,1920, and Clerk draw warrant
for the balance due said Night Policeman on Octobers salary, which was duly sec by
Ald i:Iassie, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Ham,Harding,11assie,
Stenhens,;'Jages,Kayes none,Absent and not voting none,I.Iayor declared the motion adopted.
Ald 'gages moved that the sum of 060.00 be allowed out of the Street fund as the
City's donation to the Bridge at east Fayetteville, and the Clerk draw awarrant in
favor of Tom Taylor for the said sum of y60.00, which was duly sec by Ald Harding,
resulted in the following vote Ayes Aldmbrose,Ham, Harding ,:.assie,Stephens,C?ages,
I?ayes none,Absent and not voting none,lSayor declared the motion adopted.
A communication from the Board of Health requesting the City Officals to have some
of the streets and alleys put in a more sanitary condition read, whereupon Ald
Harding moved that the same be referred to the City Health, -rnich was duly sec by
bld Lassie, resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambros ,Ham,Har-ding.L"assiet
