REGULAR LEETING CITY COUNCIL HELD SEPTEI:BER 17th,1920.
Present I.Iayor,Clerk,Ald Ambrose,Ham,Harding,Lassie,Stephens,Viages.
The minutes of the previous meetings was read and approved.
I.1r.I.Iathis appeared before the Council asking for a permit allowing his boy,Hayden to
drive a Automobile within the City, whereupon Ald Harding moved that the Council
grant said permit to Hayden i.athis to drive Automobile within the City limits, which
was duly sec by-Ald Ham, resulted in the following vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose,Ham,Harding,
Lassie,Stephans,I7ages,Nayes none,Absent and not voting none, payor declared the motion
adopted.
Ald :larding moved that the reports of the various City Officals for the month of
August that have been O.K. by the Finance Committee be received and filed, which was
duly sec by Ald Ham, resulted in the following vote,Ayes Ald-AmbroseHam,Harding,I:4assie,
Stephens,':!ages,llayes none,Absent and not voting none,I.fayor•declared the motion adopted.
The Finance Committee handed in the following reports, Police Judge Fines Col 032.00,

Ald Harding moved to allow the accounts against the City for the month of Agustx August
which have been O.K. by the Auditing Committee,which was duly sec by Ald Lassie; resulted
in th.1 following vote Ayes .:ld Ambrose ,Ham ,Harding ,I.assie,Stephens ,7'ages,Nayes none,
Absent and not voting none,LTayor declared the motion adopted. The Auditing Oommittee
handed in the following accounts,towit:

A Petition from a number of Citizens from the -North 'Nest part of the City asking for
a crossing to put in at the corner of Arkansas Ave and Laple Street was read, after
some discussion Ald !.Lassie moved that the Mayor see the Petitioners and that it was the
opinion of the Council that a gravel crossing be put in at the place named,which was
duly sec by Ald Wages,resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Ham,Harding,Tassie,
Ste_,,liens,'Ja`;es,Nayes none,.isbeent and riot voting none,Layor declared the motion adopted,
Ald i.assie moved that the Clerk be instructed to have stickers printed showing the rates
to be charged by Taxi Cars and Baggage wagons for hauling trunks as set forth in
Ordinance Number 261 passed July 22,1909, and to have Police place stickers in each
and every Taxi and Transfer truck and wagons, this motion was duly sec by Ald Harding
resulted in the following vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose,Ham,Harding,l:assie,Stephens,Vlages,Nayes
none,Absent and not voting none,I.ayor declared the motion adopted,
Ald Lassie introduced a Resolution leving taxes for the year 1920, which was read,
and also moved its adoption,which was duly sec by Ald Ham, resulted in the following
vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose ,Ham ,Harding ,I,assie, Stephens,Vlages,Nayes none,Absent and not
voting none, Layor declared the resolution duly'adopted, and a copy is as follows:

Section 1. That the rate of Taxes for Fire Department purposes for the year of 1920,
be and it is hereby declared to be One and One half Milts on the Dollar of the assessed
valuation of all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of
Fayetteville,Arkansas, as shown by the Assessement Books for County and State purposes,
and the same dis hereby levied.: and the Ilayor and City Clerk
of said City are hereby authorized and directed to 6ertify this levy to the County Clerk
of 'Jashington County,Arkansas, to the end that the said assessement may be placed on the
Tax Books and Collected with the State and County Taxes,
Section 2. That the rate of Taxes for City General purposes for the year 1920, be and
it is hereby declared to be Five Mills on the Dollar of the assessed valuation of all
real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville,
Argansas, as shown by the Assessement Books -for County and State purposes, and the
same is hereby levied, and the Ida -,or and City Clerk of said City are hereby authorized
and directed to Certify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington County,Arkansas,
to the end that the said assessement may be placed on the Tax Books and Collected
with the State and County Taxes.
Section 3. That the rate of Taxes for City Hospital purposes for the year 197.0, be
and it is hereby declared to be One !.Lill on the Dollar of the assessed valuation of
all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas,as shown by the Assessement Books for County and State purposes, and the same
is hereby levied, and the Layor and City Clerk of said City are hereby authorized and
directed to certify this levy to the County Clerk of Washington County,:,kansas, to
the end .that the said assessement may be placed on the Tax Books and Collected with the
State and County Taxes,

Ald Harding moved that the Clerk draw a warrant for the sum of 02000.00 and '0317.18
in favor of the Chairman of the Hospital Board on the Hospital Fund, which was duly sec
by Ald !'!ages, rJsulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose.Ham,Harding.I.assie,Stephens,
:'lages,Nayes none,Absent and not voting .jone,Iayor declared the motion adopted,
