The Board of Commissioners,
i East Street Improvement Dstrict.lTo.1.
-- - -- Gentlemen; - --' ---- - ----- --- -- - - --
AKH
I am submitting herewith a preliminary estimate of the cost for an asphalt macadam
pavement in East Street Improvement District Number One and Annex Plumber One thereto.
' This estimate is not final nor guarAnteed to be correct in every detail, but is
sufficiently accurate to be -used as a basis for the assessement in the district
The estimate is based on the
present price of all material that is to be used
- in the work, and common labor at 40 per hour, also allowing for the handling of
all material by hand which would be likely on a contract of this size.
The item of 25% profit is put in as one-item,but includes, first,20% which seems
to be customary to add for a reasonable return f6r the risk of such contract work;
the remaining 5% is to_cover_the-demurrage,interest on money tied up, bond.,insurance,
ect.
t , The width of pavements,exclusive of gutters, for_the•various streets included
in this estimate, are as follws;
