AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF THE PROPERTY AND TO
PROMOTE
THE PROSPERTY OF THE C(VIZENS-OF-FA TEVILL-___

Be it ordained by the City `'oun it of the City of Fayetteville.
First. -_that hereafter -it -shall be -unlawful -for -an --

character within the City of Fayettevil e,withouL first submitting his plans and specific
ationa also location and use _for _�whi.ch-b ilding_is-to-he used,to-the--City Engineer and -- ---
obtaining a lice -nee to erect the samein ccordance with such plans and specifications.
Second. It shall be the, duty of t e_ City Engineer to- promptly -examine -the the same -
and submit the same to -the City ouncil wi such recommendations as he sees proper to make
Third. If the City En ineer shou d be absent,o_r if the office_ should_ be vacant_,__--_
application may be-made--directly-to-the-C-it-y-Council-for the license.
Fourth. It shall be the ##### du y of theCity Council to examine promptly

and if it is found that the building when so erected will not render other property less

Whereas the work of the' City Health Officer_has so grown ir. voluue as to require the
larger part of the City Officer time,
Whereas the present compeneation-for-the eff roient-performance of such duties as -
i####u###Y*P,. inadequate.Therfore be it resolved tha on and after the adoption of this# e
resolution the salary of theCity Healthofficerrhall be raised -from -#50.00 to $75.00 per
month said salary to begin September lst,1919.
_ Also the following resolution.-
Whereas the Salary of of the Sanitary Police is inadequate for -the carrying out of
the requirm.ents of his office,therfore be it resolved that on and after the adoption of this
resolution the salary of the Sanitary Police shall be $50.00 per month said pay to begin
September lst,1919,
After some di-scussion-by the Wouncil Ald Massie moved tha--the"Mayor appoint a
committee to investigate sanitation conditions and report rack to the "ouncil at the next

situation with the Council,a.fter some diepuesion Mayor appointed Ald Har ing as a committee
of one to interview the Supt of the Light Coin regard:to the•pumping of th water.
