Ald Harding introduced an Ordinance taxing Taxi care and trucks which was read the first
time,whereupon Ald Massie moved that the rules'be suspened and the Ordianee be placed on
itssecond'reading which was duly sec by Ald Hamm.resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald
Ambroee,HaPnm,Harding,Mase"ie;8tephens,Wages.Nayee none,A1qsent and not voting none.Mayor

BE IT ORDAINED BY MHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE i CITY OF_FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS: 61ffn
e)� Section T: That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person to own or dri"re any
motor driven taxi cb cab",onnibus,truck or motor cycle,within the corporate limits of the
City of Fayetteville.Arkaneae.without having first paid a licence"fee for same,as herein �z
i l 'after set forth, The license fee shall be as follows,towit: a
For each motor 'driven taxi, cab,or. omnibus.per annum ,$2'vro@
For each motor driven truck used for retail delivery of any kind,or for hauling one's
•, own tools, or materials, capacity not over one ton,per annum,$10.00.,,
For each motor driven truok,capacity above 1 ton and not over 2 tons,per annum $20.00.
For each motor driven truck,capacity above 2 tons and not over.3 tons.per annum $30.00.
For each motor driven truck,capacity no## above 3 tons and not over 4 tons,per annum
$40.00.
For each motor driven truck,capacity over 4 tons,per annum,$50.00
For each motor cy,cle,with or without side car,per annum,$5.00.
Section 2. Said lioenee fee shall be payable annually on the first day of####yJuly
1919,and on the first dqy of July of each year thereafter. Each lAcenee shall expire on
the,30th day of June following its issue. -
r Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or run any truck,on any improv
ed or paved street,mithin the corporate limits of, the said �Cit of, Fayetteville,Arkansas, ith chains on any of its wheels. y
Section 4;, Any per,son,firm or corporation who shall drive any taxi cab,omnibus.truck
or motor cycle.upon any of the public streets.alleys or public highways of exid "ity of
�I Fbyetteville,Arkaboas „ without having first paid the license fee herein provided,or who
d Jv*akiall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance,shall bt deemed guilty of a mia demean
or.and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum ## not leas than Ten dollars nor
more than Fifty dollars. Each day that such taxi etib,omnibus,truck or motor cycle shall
be so drten,without a license fee -having been paid,shall constitute a seperate offense.
y!� Section 5. The revenue derived from the collections of said license fees shall be
1placed and kept in a senerate,and shall be used exclusively in the construction,repair and
�###maintenance of the streets,alleys and public highways of ,the City of Fayetteville
jo Arkansas,and any officer who shall wilfully and knowingly participate in spending any of
said funds for any other p::rpose shall be deemild guilty pf a misdemeanor.nnd upon convict
idn thbreof,shall be punished by'a fine of not less than Fifty dollare,nor more that Five
Hundred dollare for each offends.
Section 6.:A1h�Ordisnces and—parte of Ordiances in conflict, herewith shall -be and
the same are hereby repealed and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passaae,approval and'publication.
