CERTAIN PRITELEDGES IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS."

Section 1, That herea fter it shall be unlawful for any person.firm.or corporation
!n ''-'•'to'engage in the exerciee of.or pursue'any vocation.,or business., for which a license is
,,required by the City of Fayetteville.Arkansae,without having first obtained a license
therefor from the v9royer city authorityeand having paid for the same in gold,silver or
other united bitate.e currency.
reaction 2. `he Chief of Police of the Gity of Fayetteville shall be the Collector
for the purpose of this prdinance.and It shall be his duty to see that said Ordience is
fully enforced. Any persoh,firm or corporation desiring to procure a license under the
provisions of this Ordinance shall tender to said Collector the yuount required iuy the
terrae of thin Aidinance,aild nhall take from said Polleotor a,receipt therefor. Said receipt
e shall then be presented to -the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville.Arkanane,and it
shall be the -duty of the said City Clerk to issue thereon a license to such per.son.firm
or corporation for the purposes indicated on said receipt,a.nd to charge the Collector
with the amount thereof,
Section 3. In case any person ,firm or corporation shall fail.neglect or refuse
to pay the license herein-required,wben due,it shall be the duty of the,Collector to report
such per@on,firm or corporation to the Police Judge of the City of Fayetteville,Arkaneas,
and t###### thereupon the City Attorney of the City of Fayetteville,Arkanea.s,shall file
imformation against such person,firm or corporation,and cause such peeson,firm or corpor
atien to be proceeded against for such failure neglect or refusal,
Section 4. All annual licenses herein provided for shall be due and payable on
the first day of July,1919,and shall expire on the last day of June the year next following
and for all succeeding years shall be due and,payable on the first day of July,and to ex
pire on the last day of June next following, All monthly license shall be due and payable
on the first day of the month and shall expire the last day of the month of their istueance
All licenses of whatever nature or description shall be due and payable in advance. Any
person firm or corporation,who shall have paid a license for one year.or for six monthe,or
for three monthe,under any other Ordinance heretofore passed by the City Council of the
.» City of Fayetteville,Arkanses,shall on the first day of July,1919;pay the license herein
assessed for one year,or for six months.or for three months,as the case may be,but may
deduct from said sum the amount which has already been overpaid. ..
Section 5, -Any person -,firm or corposetion engaging in any of the following

Section,6. Each telegraph.p###T elephone,Electric light or power company shall pay

a sworn list of the number of poles in' use by said company.whether the same are rented,leas
Na ed or owned by said Compa.ny,showing the location of,said poles and the manner in which same
bo are erected. The first sworn list required b###Ai'sunder this Ordinance shall be filed with
the City Clerk on or before t### July 1,1919,and thereafter said sworn list shall be filed
with Said Clerk on the firstday of July of each suceeding year. In addition to the above
v required annual sworn list,all telegraph,telephone,electric list or power companies,ahall
file with the City Clerk a written report each time an additional post is erected within
the corporate limits of the,said City of Fayetteville,giving the place whetie loca.ted,and �w
the manner in which same is erected.
Section 7. The City Collector shall be required to keep a stub of each receipt
issued by him under the provisions of this Ordinancegnd to copy the memorandum shown on
said stubs into a ledger to.be kept by him for this purpose. Said Collector shall make a
written report to the City "ouncil,monthly.showing the names of all persons to whom a receip
has been issued,the amount ### of said collection.and the business for which same was issued _
Section 8. The City clerk shall monthly make a written report to the City Council

a list of all licenses or permits issued under the provisions of this ordinance.
showing the names of the parties to whom issued.and the amount of the -license fee charged to
the Qollector.
Section 9. All license -fees herein provided for shall be due and payable in -
advance,and any person,firm or corporatift who shall exercise any of the priveledges for which
a, license is required,under any of the provisions of this Ordinance.without first having
obtained said licens or permit.ahall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,and upon conviction
thereof.shall be fined in any sum -of not less than $10.00,nor more than $25.00.for each
offends. If such violation shall be in its nature continuous.in respect to time.each day
of such continuance shall be deemed aseperate offense.,and shall be punishable in the same
manner as above set forth.
Section 10. All Ordinances,and parte of 0#gyp##,## ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.and this Ordinance shall take effect and -be in force
from and after 'its passes ge,approval and publication.

Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or run any truck,on any improv

Section. 4;: Any person.firm or corporation who shall drive any, taxi cob,omnibus.truck
IV or motor cycle upon any of the public streets, alleys or public highways of said "ity of
(1or11 gayetteville.Arkahsas „ without having first paid the license fee herein provided,or who
J %W)LAhall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance.shall bit. deemed guilty of a mis demean
or,and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum ## not leas than Ten dollars nor
more than Fifty dollars: Each day that such taxi ceb,omnibus,truck or motor cycle shall
be so dr#en,without a license fee -having been paid.shall constitute a seperate offense.
J� Section'5 The revenue derived from the collections of said license fees shall be

said funds for any other p%rpose shall be deembd guilty pf a misdemeanor,nnd upon convict

Hundred dollars for each offende.
Sect-ion.6.:All`�Ordirnces and—parva of Ordiances in conflict- herewith shall -be and
the same are heieby,repealed;and this Ord'inance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passaQe,approval and'publicati'on.

Absent and not voting Ald Stephens ,17ages,Clerk dedlared the motion adopted.
Ald Harding takes the chair, then not being a fuhl council present Ald lassie moved
to adjourns to meet F"iday June 27,1919,8.P.M. which was duly sec ,by Ambrose.r.esulted in
the following vote Ayes Ald Amvrose,Hamm,Harding,Massie.Nayes none,Absent and not voting
