Dr Paddook was present and stated to the Council that, he had,. interviewed the meoft)ft
»merchants around the square and collected the sum of $13.50 towards the cleaning up of tide
the city wagon yard. t

1HEREAS,it has recently been determined by a Court of competetent jurisdiction
that cities in the state -of prkaneas have no statuary right to regulate the rates tobe
charmed by telephone comppnies for se --vices rendered by said comnanies.

for theit seruices without giving to their patrons the service to which they are entitled

That our Senator-a.nd-Representatives be -respectfully requested -and urged to um
use their every effort in securing the passage of a Eiji in the present Legislature
giving cities of the first and second class the right to regulate the rates to be charged
by telephone companies,the same 4s they now have the right to regulate the rates to be
charged by any water copmpany, „a,s or electric light plant.

STREET LIGHTS FURNISHED TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEV ILL E, ARKANSAS BY THE FAYETTEVILLE GAS AND
ELECTRIC COMPANY,AND PROVIDING_FOR THE MINI2MUM NUMBER OF LIGHTS TO,BE-FL'RNISHED,AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE -CITY COUITCIL OF -THE C.ITY OF FAYEETE` 1LLE,ARY.ANSAS:
9 "ction 1.A charge for street lights furnished to the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas by the Fayetteville Gas and Elctric Co##1l Company shall be as followsTowit:
One hundred(100) Candle Power lamps, $1.65 per lamp per Me.
Sixty (60) Candle Power lamps, $ 1.00 per lamp per Up,
Section2. The -above -rates shall apply to all -street lights-?vithi the
exception of those used in the ornamental standards around the ,puLlic square and on
Dixon str.eet,the rate which shall be �.s fel-lows- towit:- -
Sixty (60) Watt lamps $1.10 per lalap per Mo.
One hundred -(100) Wait lamps $1.50 per lamp per. Mo.
Section 3.All street lights are to burn from dusk until t%,elve O'clock
midnight each'and every night.
Section 1V. The minimum number of lights to be used by the said City
of Fayetteville Arkansas,under the terms of this ordinance# shall be as follows towit:
