rates in the city of Fayetteville,at once,which was duly-seq, by Ali Harding,,
resulted in the following vote,Ayes Ali Ambrose,Harding ,Massie,Phillips.Stevenst
Na.yes none,Absent and nay voting Ald Cornwell.Mayer declared the motion adopted.
Ald Massie introduced An Ordinance fixing the Telephone rates in the City of
Fayetteville,which was read the first time,whereupon Ald Harding moved that the rules

AN ORDINANCE"TO BE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE—REGULATING CHARGES FOR TELEPHONE -
SERVICE IN THE -CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS."
BE IT ORDAINED BY TE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYET.TEVILLE,ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That herediter no person,persons,firm,partnership,company or
corporation owning or -operating a. telephone.excha.nge within the corporate limits of
the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,skall charge or receive frim the inhabitants of said
City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,greater prices for the use of. telephones than those set
forth as follows, towiti • - - ' - _--_._ .1
Telephones for buiness houses and offices, including all wires,posts,transmitte
era and receivers necessary for oprerating a telephone.
Direct Line $.3.00 per month:
Two Party Line 2.50 Per month
Extensions $1.00 per month,.

Section 2. Any person,peesens, firm,nartnership,company or corporation
owning or operating -a telephone exchange wihhin said City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,
who shall fail or refuse to accept the rgtes hereby fixed by the City Council of said
City of Fayetteville-,Arkansae,to charged -for -telephone service,and instead -thereof,

shall charge,demand or receive a greater amount than that fixed by said City Council as
afoeesaid,shall be deemed quilty.of a misdemeanor,and upon congiction therfor shall be
fined'in any sum not less than twenty five
($25.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred .
($500,00) Dollars,and each such overcfiarge as made or accepted shall constitute a
separate offense,
Section 3o That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
