This meeting was called.for the purpose of taking up the proposed Light rate increase{
With Mr_0'neal of the Light Co. who -furnished some figures -on their -increase of cost -of _--
operation of the'Plant,after some discussion by the members of the council it was decided
to defer action until a later meeting to be held Friday July 12,1918.
Aid Massie moved that the Cierk-draw a warrant in favor of theCity General Fund en the—
City Hospital Fund for the sum of $41.00,which was duly sec by Aid Cornwell,resulted in the .
following vete Ayes"Ald Cornwell,Harding-eissle,Phillips;Stev.ens,Nayes none,Ab-sent -and-not-
voting Aid Ambrose,Mayer declared the motion adopted.
Moved and carried to adjourns to meet July 1211918. - - -

as party of of the first part,and the City of Fayetteville_,Arkensae,-y,its Beard of Wate
Comm ssioners,as party of the second part,iid en the I6th day of July,1918,enter into a.
written contract ir, r#g### regard to pumping water for said party of second part for a
-pehiod. of two years;-'
Wheras said contract seems equitable and just to beth parties;
New therefore,be it -resolved by the City -Council of theCity if Fayettevib-
Arkansas,that said contract be in all things confirmed and ratified by the said city of
Fayetteville,A'rkansas...- _ _

Aid Harding introduced an 0dinance to rase the rates for removal of refuse by the C-ity
Scavenger,which was read,whereupon Ald-Cornwell Inoved that the rules be suspended and the __
ordinance be placed on its second reading,which was duly sec.by Ald Harding,resulted in the
following vote,Ayes Aid Ambrose ,Cornwell ,Hard ing,Massie,2hillips,Stevens ,Nayes none,Absent--- __
and not voting nodne,Mayor declared the motion adopted. Aid Harding moved that the Ordinance
be referred to the Ordinance Committee and Dr,Yates City Health Officer for further Investi
gation and report to the Council at -a -`later meeting,which-wa-duly sec by Aid Cornwell,
