This meeting was celled for .the purpose of taking up the proposed Light rate increase#
With Mr Otneal of the Light Co. who__furnished- -some figures -on their -increase of .cost -of _--
operation of the-Plant,after some discussion by the members of the council it was decided
to defer action until a later meeting to be held Friday July 12,1918.
Ald Massie moved that the Clerk draw a warrant in favor if theCity General Fund an the
City Hospital Fund for the sum of $41.00,which was duly sec by Ald Cornwell,resulted in the -

voting Ald Ambrose,Mayor declared the motion adopted,

Ald Massie introduced the following resolution and moved its adeption;towit:
Resolution confirmong contract. for pumping water: --
Whereas the Fayetteville Gas and Electric Company of Fayeti.eville,Arkamse
as party of of the first part,and the_C.ity of Fayetteville_,Arkansas,Ly,its Board of Wate-
Commiesioners,as party of the second Fe rt,did on the I6th day of July,1918,enter into a.
written contract in r#ld### regard to pumping water for said party of second part for a
perfied of two years; .. - - - - -- -
Wheras said contract seems equitable and just to both parties;
Now therefore,be it resolved -by the City -Co of-theCity if Fayettevit_
Arkaneas,that said contract be in all things confirmed and ratified by the said city of

Ald Harding'meved tha the Clerk draw a w',.rrant in favor of the Hospital Board for the
sum of $1137.10 -out -of the Hospital-Fund,which was duly -as -c by Ald Masste,resulted in the -
following vote,Ayes Ale Ambrose ,Cornwell,Harding,Massie,Phillips,S:tevens,Nayes none,Absont
and not -voting none,Mayor-declared--the--motion-adopted, ----
Ald Harding introduced an Odinence to rase the -rates for removal of refuse by the City
_ Saavenger,which was read,whereupon-Ald-Cornwell.Tneved that -the rules b.e.suspended- and the
s. ordinance be placed an its second reading,which was duly sea by Aid Harding,resulted in the
l following vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose,Cornwell,Harding,Liassie,8hillips,Stevens,Nayes none,A'osent
and not voting nodne,Mayor declared the motion adopted. Ald Harding moved that the Ordinance
be referred to the Ordinance Committee and Dr,Yates City Health Officer for further Investi
