Called Mewling City Council held July 10,1.918.
Present Mayor.Clerk,Rld Cornwell,Harding,Massie,Phi111ps,S tevens,Absent Aid
Ambrose.
This meeting was called.for the purpose of taking up the proposed Light rate increased
With Mr O'neal of the Light Cos who -furnished some figures -on their .increase of .cost_of
operation of the'Plant,after-some discussion by the members of the council it was decided
to defer action until a later meeting to be held Friday July 12,1918.
Aid Maes is moved that the Clerk draw a warrant in favor of thed General Fund on the
City Hospital Fund for the sum of $41.00,which was duly sec by Aid Cornwell, resulted in the .
- following vote Ayes Ald Cornwell,Harding assle,Phillips;Stev.ens,Nayes none,Absent and not --
voting Aid Ambrose,Mayer declared the motion adopted.

This meeting was called for the purpose -to take up the -rate pending between the council
and•the Fayetteville Gas & Elect.Co. '
The # matLwes discussed -by the members -of the counci-1,but no ect-ion-was-taken. -
Ald Massie introduced the following resolution and moved its adeption;towit:
Resolution.confirmong-con.trac-t.for pumping water: - - -
Whereas the Fayetteville Gas and Electric Company of Fayett.eville,Arkamea
as party of of the first part,and the City of Fayetteville ,Arkansas ,by,its Board of Wate-
Commissioners,as party of the second Fe rt,did on the I6th day of July,1918,enter into a.
written contract ir,'rdd#f# regard to pumping water for said party of second part for a
peciod.-of two years; • - --- - --
Wheras said contract seems equitable and just to both parties;
Now therefore,be it resolved by the City -Council of theCity if Fayettevi'h
Arkansas,that said contract be in all things confirmed and ratified by the said city of
Fayetteville.A'rkansas. I - - .- - _
This resolution was duly S ec by Aid Har ding,viete was taken with the following
result,Ayes Aid Harding ,Massie, Phillips, Stevens ,Kayes_none A`gsent and, 7 t voting,
Aid Ambrose,Cornwell,Mayer declared the resel.ution duly adopted.
No further budoness coming up,motion made to adjourned,Carried.

Aid Harding'moved tha the Clerk draw a wr.rrant in favor of the Hospital loa,rd for the
sum pf--$1137.10 out -of -the Hospital Fund-; which was duly ss -c by Ald Massie; resulted in the- -

Ald Harding introduced an odinance to rase the -rates for removal of refuse by the City
Soavenger,which was read,whereupon Ald--Cornwell Tneved thet_the rules be suspended and the _
ordinance be placed on its second reading,which was duly sea by Ald Harding,resulted in the
following vote,Ayes Aid Ambrose ,Cern_well,Harding,massie,Phil_lips,Stevens,Nayes none,A-usent
and not voting noijne,Mdyor declared the me.tion adopted. Aird Harding moved that the Ordinance
be referred to the Ordinance Committee and Dr,Yates City Health Officer for further Investi
gation and report to the Council at a `later meeting, which-wa duly sec by'Ald Cornwell,
