The minutes of the prev=ious meeting wae> read- ad -approved,-
Ald Phillips introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption,towit:
REOLUT.I ON -AUTHORIZING -THE -MAYOR -TO EXECUTE-DEIM: ---- -
Whereas,during;the administration of.T•om T:aylor.�aa Mayor of the -City of Fayettevi
lle,a contract was intered into by and between the said Tom Taylor ae-MEp r and one H.M.
" P'owere,whereby ,the said Tom-Tikylorras Mayor agreed to conve to the said H.M.Powers,
for the agreed sum and price of.Two Hundred ari Fifty ($250.00 dollars, e. certain tract of
land situated on the Huntsville Road -and -!pillow-Street.—wh"ich Zlroperty-was acquired by the
City of Fayetteville, through W,N.Yates,
` - Whereas-, the said H.M.Powers has -paid the sadd City of-Ilayetteville,in work,the
sum of $201.35,during the administration of the said Tom Taylor as Mayor:
Whereas,the said H`:M Bowers. now stands ready to _pay in -.cash the -sum -of-a48.b5 -
being the balance of thr a rice:

_,- Now,therefore be it_rem olved by the City _4ouncil_of_the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas: that the T..Iayor of the daid City of Fayetteville,be,and he is hereby, author
meed and directed to execute a.(If D eed tgthe above mentioned prop-erty,cor.veying said
propwrty to the said H.li.Powers,and to deliver said Deed to the ea:id.11,M.Powers upon the
receipt of said sum of $48.65.

A communicatior was read from the.J.L•Stice Mfg,Co, asking for a Fire P-lug•near his
Paactory,whereupon Ald ussie moved that -the communication -be refer_r.ed-to_the-Fire sand
Water Committee which was duly S-ec by Ald Phillips,reaulted in the following vote,
Ayes Ald Aiabroee,Harding.iliassie,Phillips,Stevens,Ra yes none,Ab.sent and. not voting Aid

Ald Harding moved tha the accounts against the City for April that have been O.K.

by the Ahditing Committee be glowed and warrants-dra;vn -for- same;;which-wa:a- duly -Sec by
Ald A•mbtose,resulted in the following vote,Ayes Ald A'Mbtaose.Ear.ding,Ma.ssie,Phillips,

Ald HardAgg from the Auditing committee reported the following accts as being

Ald Iiarding moved that City raise the rent of the building now occupied by Smeleer
-&Eason located in the City 77agon Yard,be raised -from -$15.00 per -month -to -$20:00 per-
month,beginning July lft ,1918,and all resolutions or parte thereof in conflict herewith
be repealed. ---- ._
Which was duly sec byAld Ma.ssie,resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding
Massie,Phillips,pSteven.s,:layes none,Kbsent_and not -voting _Aid_Cornwell,_.,Ma.yor,declared.the
motidn adopted.
Ald Phillips meed that the wages of the Street Hands be fixed at $2.25 per day
and the wages of A man and team be fixed at -$5:00 per -day be inning ?niondaydy'20th,191$,
which was -duly by Ald Massie,resulted in the following vote,Ayes Ald Ambrose Harding',
Massie,Phi11ips,3tevens,Nayes none,A-bsent-and not- voting Ald-Cornwell ,Mayor d«clared the
motion adopted.

This meeting was called for to meet with the !ffat.er Commissioners and dim cue
the prposed increase that the Fay Gas ad Electric Ca. intend to cl3arge for pmmpingr,
the waster tat .the expiration of the .present contract,. YZaGla.dson and YeF.Campbe-11
of the !later commiesion was present and Prof Gladson gay.e to the Council some
correnpondance they had with -the Light -Co,----

After some discussion by -the Council -and Water-Co-mmissioners Ald--Cornwell
mosved that the Council request Pr-of,_Glad&Sn- to --communicate with the Fay. Girw
and Electric Co, to_aaaertain if, they will-renew_the.present.contract at -7 cents
per thousand gallons not to exceed two years-.
