Ald Ambrose moved that Ald Massie act as Presedent Protem which was duly Sec by Ald

Electrical Inspector,My reasons for doing so is the fact that I do not feel fully qualified to
perform the duties of the office in the manner which I think the work sbibuld be done in,
realizing that one more conversant'with modern methods of electrical'construction should -
hold the position.

regretting my inability to serve you-

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The regular order of buisness was then set aside to receive the report of the
Board of Commissioners of West Lafayette Avenue Improvement -District No* I,
L The Board of Commissioners of West LafayeU:a Avenue Improvement District No.IJ,then
reported that they'had formed a plan for the paving.of-said district and had ascertained
the cost thereof,and filed red{#### report stating said estimate of cost to which was

We,the Board of Commissioners of West Lafayette Avenue Improvem
ant District No.I,of Fayetteville Arkaneas,herwith-submit.the plan-.of..the proposed-pave.men
and the estimate of the cost of the same.
We have employed as engineers fo.r the proposed im_provement.,Wintere and Dove of Ft.
Smith. They have made their surveys and the plane and estimates as submitted are based on J=
the surveys. The plan of the paving is attached herewith and marked "Exhibit A" to this
report. - -- - - - - .. -
The plans contemplate# the laying a pavement of asphaltic macadam having a total thick
» ness-of-9 inches.The wearing surface,that-is.the-part-treated with asphalt paving cement,
will have a thickness of 3 inches. Concrete curb and gutter will be built along all the
» - - paving. Returns having as long radii as_the-_widtha_of-the -intersecting streets will permit-
will be built at all corners, to provide for the safety df traffic. Ample culverts and
drains are planned to take care of all storm water that finds its way to the street.
The approximate quantities according to the plan are as follows; I5I20 square yards
of asphaltic macadam (or some pavement simild ar quality) .I5000 lineal feet of curb and \
gutter of all kinds, culverts, 4200 cubic yards of earth and rock excavation

In order to carry on the work.We have sold bonds to the sum of $220500.00,
bearing 6 % interest. To retire these bonds to pay the interest -on- them.and finish the work,
we ask that the following amount be assessed for benifits;

Estimated interest on $22,500.00 of bonds at 6 %,running
