August 2nd 1917.
To The Mayor and Council -of -the -City of Fayetteville.Arkansas,..
Gentlemen:
- We,the undersigned officers of the _
Fayetteville Fire Department -would respectfully recomend to your honorable body that the —"
`American La France triple combination fire apparatus be delivered exa16
ctly as contracted
forthat la chemlcal, hose and pump complete.
_ We would_recemend that for an emergency or auxiliary car,the City purchase some light
automibile like the.Ford or some half ton t=uck equiped to carry so##### 600 or 700# feet
of hose.
We believe the present horse equipment can be disposed of for enough to purchase -
the auziliary apprtue.
In the event the chemical attachement now in use is -not sold with pr resent
equipment,it could be stored at the fire station until such time -was deemed nescarry
to equip the second -or auxiliary w#### car with chemical. We would re####### not recomend
the purchase of an expensive or large truck at this time for a secondary apparatue, believ
ing that a light car,eq# " equipped as above set forth, will answer the requirments of
the department.
Very respectfully,
C.O.Haneard,
Chief og Fire Department.
