F The Minutee,of the previous meeting was read and approved.
Prof W.N.Gladson from.the `Rater Commission.was presentand addressed -the Council
making a report of the Water Improvement district Number One giving figures on same,and
after some discussion by the Council Ald Cornwell moved that the Mayor, appoint a Committee
of Three members from the Council to take up the matter with the Water' Commission into t d
bw and see what they could agree upon in regard to Xydrant Rental spd report back to the
Council.which was duly -Sec by Ald Massie.r.esulted".in the fdilowing:vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,
Cornwell,Harding.Ph##### Massie,Phillips,Stephens,.Nayes none Absent and not voting none.
Mayor apointed Ald Phillips.Harding and Cornwell -as the eommitee,:
Ald Harding introduced an Ordinance for the removal of Substance whether Vegetable or

Animal -which was_read-the.-first-.time,whereupon-Ald Harding moved -that -the ordinance- be refer .
red to the'Ord inance Committee,which was duly Sec by Ald Stephene,ressulted in the following

voting none,Mayor dec,ared the motion adopted.
Ald Harding introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption.,Towib:
fi Wherae.The St Louis and San Francisco Railway Co. has constructed over .its line of
railway a bridge at the West end of Lafayetteve Avenue in the City of Fayetteville.Washington
! County.Arkaneas.
Whereas, Said Railway Co. has constructed the approack to the West end,of said bridge
so that .said approach istoohighand-too-narrow$nd the railings on either side of said approach-
are
pproa -are too short,
Whereas, Said Railway Co. has. also -constructed -a culver__t_,at__the_West approach --to .said - -
bridge,and said culvert is too short,
I Whereas,It would be far more practicable and much safer if the railing a at the West
end of said bridge were made longer and the opening were made wider and said culvert were
made longer,
Whereas, The City of-Fayettevile would be will-ing-to cooperate lNith said Railway Co.
and assist in making the above mentioned needed improvements,
1 - Therefore,be it resolved by the City Councilofthe C-ity-of Fayettevilb,Arkaneas,
that said St.Louis and San Francisco Railway Co.be requested to cooperate with said City of
Fayet6eville in making -the above mentioned i.########## improvements.
Resolved furhter that the Street Committee be instructed and requested to immediatly
take 'this matter up with said Railway Co. to the end that said improvements -may be made at an •.

Ald Massie moved that the Fire ComAttee take up the matter of disposing the Fire Team and
the purchase of Motor Fire Apparatus.which was duly Sec by Ald Ambrose.Resulted in the follow
ing vote Ayes Ald-Ambrose,Cornwell,Marding.Mass-ie,Phil-Lips,Stephens-,Nayes-!none-,Absent and -not ---
voting none,Mayor declared the motion adopted.
