Present Mayor.Clerk,Ald Ambrose,Rarding,Maasie,Phillips,Stephene.Absent Ald Cornwell, Minutes of the previous meetings was read and approved. The reports of the various City Officals for the-monnth of- June vies wead,whereupon Ald Harding moved that the repotts be refferred to the Finance Committee for investigation which was duly Sec by Ald Stephens,resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding Masele.Phillips,Stephens Nayes none.Absent and.not'voting Ald Cornwell,M ayor declared the motion adopted, Ald Harding introduced An Ordinance to prohibit the Salo of contaminated foods ` and for inspection of foods in the City which was read the first time, whereupon Ald Phillipe moved to refer. the Ordinance to the Ordinance Committee and said Committee to meet with,the Health Officer, and report back to the ,Council,which was .duly Sec by Ald Harding, resulted in the.followinfg vote AyesAld Ambroee,Harding,Massie,Phillips,Stephens, Nayes none,Absent and not voting Ald Cornwell,Mayor declared the motion adopted. Ald Harding moved that W.B.Smith a Jutice of Peace in and for Prairie Township be appointed as Acting Police Judge in the absense of Police Judge W.F.Stirman_for the City of Fayetteville.which was duly Sec by Ald Phillips.resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald ,%Ambrose,HardingiMassie,Phillipa,Stephens;Nayes none,Absent and not.voting Ald Cornwell, Mayor declared the motion adopted. Ald Harding introduced an ordinance to amend Sectioo I9 and 2I of Ordinance No 36I which was read the first time,whereupon Ald Phillips moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be placed on its escond reading,which was duly Sec by AldStephens.result ed do the folowing vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Harding.Massie,Philllps;Stephene,Nayes none, Absent and not voting Ald Cornwell,Mayor declared the motion adopted. That Section 2I of said Ordinance 36I be amended to:read as follows: S p No person in control of a vehickle on any street within the City of Fayetteville ®hall ��( travel greater than is reasonable and proper,having regard to the traffic nand use of the L �" way,or so as to endanger the life or limb -or injure the property"of any person,. ,If the speed of any -vehickle operated upon any street - in this city,vihere same passes through the closely built buisness sections exceeds I5 miles an hour for a distance of one eigth of amile,or if the rate of speed of any vehickle operated on any street out side the closely built buisness and residence portion of the City exceeds 20 miles an hour for a distance of one fourth of a.mile,auch rates of speed shall•be PRIMA FACIE evidence that the person operating.such vehickle is running at a rate of speed greater than is reasonable and proper,having regard to the traffic and the use of the way,or so as to endanger the life or limb or injure the property of any persona In going around corners where the operators view cis obstructed no vehickle shall exceed 6 miles an hour. Ample warning shall be given by sounding horn or signal before the turn is made,.Provided,the speed limit imposed in'this section shall not apply to fire -apparatus embulances,doctors vehickles when plainly designated as such or police vehickles. Section 3. That this Ordinance be in force &4### from and after its passage,approval and publication and all Ordinances or parte thereof in conflict herewith be and the•same are hereby repe aled. Ald Philips introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption Towit: Resolved by the City.Council that the Board of Improvement of Water Improvement District Number One be respectfully requested to imfrom the Council, First,as to what per cent of the orginal assessed vgluation of said Improvement District will have to be collected this year,in order to fully and completely pay off all indebtedness and retire all of the bonds of said water Improvement District Number One? Second,How much balance now remains on hands to pay on the bonded indebtedness, either in the hands of the City Treasurer or in the hands of the St Louis Union Trust Col Resolved furthdr that said Board of Improvement be requested to comply with this resolution and mail their reply to the City Clerk on or -before the I3th day of July I9I7. Resolved further that the City Clerk be directed to mail a copy of this resolution to the Chairman and Secretary of said Board of Improvement.
