Minutes of the previous meeting wae'read and'approved. A petetion was read asking the aPpointment of C.S.Duggane as Fire Cheif and J.L. Carlisle as Driver at the fire Station, Mayor held up making an appointment until a. later date, - The following report was handed in. -and read-Towit: s; Fayetteville,Arkanshs,April 20th I9I7. Ald Harding introduced,An Ordinance to regulate the use and sale of milk bottles, which was read the first time whereupon Ali Philips moved that the 0#"###### rules be suspended and the ordinance)be placed on it second reading which was duly Sec by Ald Harding.resu�ted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose ,Farding,Phill ipe,Stepheneltayes Ald Massie,Absent and not voting Ald Cornwell,Mayor declares'. the motion adopted, Ald Harding moved that.the-rules be further suspended and the ordinance be placed on its third and finale reading,.which was duly Sec by Ald Phillips, resulted in the following votes l:ld Amlirose,Eare.ing,Philips,StepheneVe.yee Ald Massie,Absent and not voting Ald Cornwell, Mayor declared the r4otion adopted. CALLED MEETING CITY COUNCIL HELD -APRIL. 23rd I9I7.. Present Mayor;Flerk,Ald ######## `f Ambrose,Cornwell,Harding,Massie,Phillps,Stephens. This meeting was celled for the purpose of taking up street matters in regard to the worb on the streets for the next year. A Petetion was sent in to the Mayor by the Street hands asking the city council to give them more money on accant of the high cost -of living,after•eome discussion by the council Ald Massie moved to allow the street hands the sum of $I.75 per day,which was duly sec by Ald Stephens,resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Cornwell,MYarding, Miessie,Phi111ps,Stephens,*To.yes none,Absent and not voting none,Mayor declared the motion adopted. Ald Phillps moved that the Mayor,Ald Stephens, -and Ald Cornwell interview the property owners on :;orth hest Streret in view of securing-contributations to repair said street, and report back to council,whih sea duly Sec by Aid Massie,resulted in the following vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Cornwell,Harding,Massie,Phi111ps,Stephens.Ilayes none,Abeent end not voting none.Mayor declared the motion adopted.
