REGULAR MEETING CITY COUNCIL HELD APRIL 20th ISM
Present Mayor.Clerk,Ald Ambrose ,Hard_ing.Mamsie_,Phill ips.,Stephen.eJAbsent Ald Cornwell.
_ Minutes of the previous meeting was'read and'approved,
A petetion was read asking the appointment of C.S.Duggane as Fire Cheif and J.L.
Carlisle as Driver at the fire Station, Mayor held up making an appointment until a. later
date,

examined and found-to-be•correct,whereupn Ald Stephens moved that the Clerk draw -warm -3
warrants,for same.which was duly Seo -by Ali Harding,resulted ih the following vote Ayes
Ald Ambrose,Harddng,MassierPhillips,Stephens,llayes none,Absent and not voitng Ali Cornwell
' Mayor declared the motion adopted,
Ald Harding introduced,An Ordinance to regulate the use and sale of milk bottles,
which was read the first time whereupon Alt Philips moved that the 0######### rules be
suspended and the ordinance,be placed on it second reading which was duly Sec by Ald
Harding.resulted in the -following vote -Ayes Ald Ambrose.Harding,Phillips,Stepheneliayes
Ald Massie,Absent and not voting Ald Cornwell,Mayor declared -•the motion adopted,
Ald Harding moved that.the__rules be further suspended and the ordinance be -placed on its
third and finale reading,.which was duly Sec by Ald Phillips, resulted in the following votes
Ald Ambrose,Farding.Philips.StephenaVey-ps Ald Massie,Absent and„not voting Ald Cornwell.
Mayor declared the u}otion adopted, Queation is now shall the Ordinance pass as read,vote was
taken with the following result,Ayes Ald Harding,Phillips,Stephens,rayes Ald kabrose,Massi

Ald Stephens moved that the Council go in a body to City Park'to veiw the proposed
site of the proposed culvert,which was duly Sec by Ald Massie,resulted in the following
vote AyesAld Ambrose ,Ha.rding.Ma.ssie,Phillps,Stephens , Noyes—none;'4Absent—and not voting
ald Cornwell,Ma,yor,declared the motion adopted,
on motion council moved to adjourne subject to call,_carried.

This meeting was cp.11ed for the purpose of taking up street matters in regard_ to
_the workl
on the streets for the next year.
A Petetion was sent in to the Mayor by the Street hands asking the city council to
give them mdre money on accant of -the high cost -of living.after•some discussion by the
council Ald Massie moved to allow the street hands the mum of $I,75 per day.which was duly
__sec by Ald Stephens,resulted-in the following vote Ayes-Ald A_mbrase,Cornwell,MXarding,
- L'aasie,Ph1111ps,Stephens,Na.yes none,Absent and not voting none,Mayor declared the motion
adopted.
Ald Philips moved that the Mayor,Ald Stephens;and A1d Cornwell interview the property
_ owners on North Weat Streeet in view of securing-contributations to repair said street,
- and report back to council,whih was duly Sec by Ald-Massie,resul"ted in the following
vote Ayes Ald Ambrose,Cornwell,Harding,Ma.esleiPhillips,Stephens,llayes none,Abeent end not
- voting none.Mayor declared the motion adopted.
