To The Gentlemen o£ the City Council:- - .1- -
1.I desire at this time -to- briefly inform the City Council of the
City_s.financial condition, aside from the condition of the City:Water Plant and the City
Hospital, which are seperate departments and not undee the direct -control of this body.
On April 5th'thr
e ovedraft on the General: Fund amounted -to $3364;25,nnd by July Iet
will probabjr.amount to $4I69900o The Sheriffs settlement will amount to about x!9000.00
thus leaving a-balance_of some $4830.00 -to the credit of this fund, The receipts for this
fund from July,I9I7 to 8uly I9I8 cannot reasonably be expected io exceed $3000.00,ma.king
a total of about $7830.00 with which to pay all general expenses of'the coming year, The
annual pay roll .alone amounts to over $5000.88 ,leaving a balance of -some $2600.00 -to pay
all expenses with the exception of salaiies, fire, hospital and street disbursements.
The item of etre-•t lightning a.lne will amount to about $2800.00 per annum, and must be
paid out of this fund,
From the information I have at hand, the City Water Plant..a.t this.time is indebted
tothis fund in a sum not less than $2I00600,evidenced by notes and Clear Creek Warrants
paid by the City,If this indebtness is paid within'the.year the,,City will have.approximat
ely $4700.00 with which to maintain the General Fund until the settlement of I9I8,

The Strret Fund was over drawn on April 5th in the sum of $2488,04,and by taking the
disbursements and reaceipts for the same period of time in I9I6 as a bassia, the fund will

The Fire Fund has ori deposit at this time the sum of $IOI8.00,and after the July

By setting apart a liberal amount of this fund'to care for expenses for the coming
