BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OFTHE CITY.OF FAYETTEVILLFJ,j%-RK a1NSAS:
. That the firm of- Smelsor and Eason be. -granted the_option,of-continuing the rentla of _
the building used by them as a feed store and mill,and. eituated in the City Wagon Yard,at
the rate.of Fifteen Dollars_($I5.00) per 3lonth during the life of the present contract
between the City of Fayetteville and A.M.Pyrnes,under the terms of wYiich contract the City
has the use of the said City ,'agon Yard for the team of ;even years from the Ist day of
April '1915. - -

J 1� BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVIIURY•ANSAS:
Section One. That hereafter itshall be unlawful for any person or persona to ride any
' bicycle,velocipede.coaeting wagon or other vehickle of whatsoever kind or description upon
!3 'the'sidewalks wthin the corporate Iimita-of the city of Fa.yettevile,Arkansas ,Prov ided,--,
nothing herein contained shall be so construed as to apply to-tht-use, of__raller skates',
f` upon the aaid`aidewalks during the daylight hours.
Section Two, Any person or persona violating Section One of this Ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a miedemeanor,and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine_of
a not less than One Dollar ($1.00) or more than Ten Dollars ($IO.00) for each offense.

The Committee that went to Little :lock to investigate the Fire Engine Pump *made a raper'
they think the machine was a good one,but it would have to be tested out here in
Fa.yett eville on the water mains, after some discussion Aid Phillips moved that the report
-.be received and the committee discarged, motion carried.
Aid Cornwell came into the Council Room at this time.
Aid Cornwell presented the Account of the'Arkansaa National Bank for the sum of $98045
due them for interest on money up to July I9I6. whereupon Aid Harding moved that A
Warrant be drawn for the Said $98.45 payable to the Ark.National Bank,but the Clerk go to
the Bank and'gei them to gigure out the prorate of interrest to paid out of each fund,
this motion was duly Sec by Aid Phillps,resulted in -the following vote Ayes Aid Cornwell,
Eason, Harding,Phillps Price ,Stiphene,Nayes none,Absent and not votinh none,Mayor declared
the motion adopted.

I desire at this time 'to' briefly inform the City Council of the
City_e,financial condition,aside from the condition of the C.ity.Water Plant and the City
Hospital,which are separate departments and not under the direct -control of this body.
--- » On April 5th 'the over draft on the General: Fund amounted -to $3364;25,snd by July Ist
will probabir amount to $4269.00. The Sheriffs settlement will amount to about $9000.00
thus leaving a balance of some $4830.00 to the credit of this fund, The receipts for this
fund from July,I9I7 to July I9I8 cannot reasonably be expected to exceed $3000.00,ma.king
a total of about $7830.00 with which 'to pay all general expenses of 'the coming year, The
annual pay roll.alone amounts to over $5000.99 ,leaving a balance of -come $2600.00 to pay
' all expenses with the exception of salaiies,fire ,hoapita.1 and street disbursements.
�. The item of stre•'t lightning sine will amount to about $2800.00 per annum,and must be
paid out. of this fund,
From the information I have at kRnd,the City'.9ater Plant..a.t this time in indebted
tothis fund in a sum not less than $2I00.00,evidenced by notes and Clear Creek Aarrants
paid by the City,If this indebtnese is paid within'the year the..City will have.approximat
ely $4700.00 with which to maintain the General Fund until the settlement of I9I8,
