Aid Harding introduced the following resolution and moved.its adoption,Towit: .Whereas -,on the_6th day of October,-I9I6,a petit ion signed_by- more than ten owners of re al property was presented to the Council,requesting that steps be takrmto form an improve w ment district to embrace the property described within said petition; and for the purposes set forth,and; - Whereas,on the 6th ady of October,I9I6,an 0####` ordinance,numbered,362 was 49amed, passed forming the said district as -set forth in the above mentioned petition,and; Whereas.on the 5th day of January 19I7,a petition was presented to the said Council signed' -by persona claiming to -constitute -a majority in -:assessed valuation of all real property -- 1i####### located within the district as set forth in said petition and ordinances aforesaid, and; -- - %Vhereas,The Council ordered and directed the Clerk of the said City to publish a notice,once a week for two weeks advising all persons that on the I9thd#�f{` day of January I9I7,the Council would take # that last named petkLion under consideration.and would at• that time determine whether or not same was signed by )► majority in assessed valuation of all real property within said district,and as same was so published in accordance with law. - I BWKH 443 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED ,BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYEET EVILLE,ARKANSAS: That after careful consideration the Council finds that thre is a total assessed - -valuation of $99,I50.00 of real --property within -said district accordYng to the last-asess ement on file on the office df the Cbrk of Washington County Arkansas;,and that persons „ _signing said petition own real property within said district of -an assessed valuation of $52250.00 according to said assessement. Ald Phillips moved that the Clerk draw a war ant in favor of the N.W.Ark.Lbr.Co.for the Isum.of not more than $I60.00 to -pay for materail for the construction of walls --and side walk'in front of City Hospital,warrant to be drawn on the General - Fund under agreement with the Board of Directors of the CityHospital,that the City be -reimbursed for the amount so advanced as soon# as the Tax Levjr for I9I7 is collected with interest . Ald Cornwell introduced the -following resolution and moved it's-adoptton-Towit:-- - BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS; The City of Fayetteville -agrees -,by -the -adoption ofithds-resolution to -pass -all --- necessary ordinances,resolutions and orders to form an Improvement district to macadamize the streets bounding the Univarsity ofArkansasCampue.Viz: Dickson -Street from Arkansas Avenue to Garland Aveniie,Arkanses Avenue'from'Dickson Street to Maple•Street,and Maple Street from Arkansas Avenue to*Garland Avenue and by said improvement district raise. and furnish to the -State of Arkansas t)e Sumof $'7,3I4.00 which is One half -of -the Money requires for the proposed Improvement according'to•the estimate furnished by Prof.J.J.Knoch,of the -- - - Univarsity of Arkansaswhic estimate# includes Concrete Curbs and GAtters,proper drainage and first class Construction,provided the State of Arkansas will furnish an equal sum of ##### money.
