The condition of the Rose Hill district of thds City has always been considered a
—-menace--to-the-heEith-of-the-town .-The-wa-ter-supply-t.o-th.is-por-tion-of-.the-town-is-found t,o-
be almost exclusivly from dug wells. These wells are,in nearly every instance walled with
----- loose-s.t.one-and-the-s.urfa.ce wal.l-i,s-fl.ush with
the ground permitting contamination of the
worst sort. Typhoid has remained endemic in this section for years and in ouropinion is
due to the contamination of the water supply.
This belief is borne out further from the R
