" Be it resolved by the Council of the Cityof Fayetteville, Arkansas:

Thtt all persons owning property along the West side of Vandeventer Avenue, between
'Lafayette Avenue and-idaple--Street,--be-and-they-are-hereby -required-to-construct-sidewalks- --- --
along and in front of their respective late.
- - - - -----That the said -walks -shall =be -four -feet --in -width, _ wi-to- a -four-inch curb., --walk- -and-curb--.--
,to be constructed in accordance with existing city ordinances.

A petition was presented by the citizens of Fayetteville concerning the telephone
company's rates_ and services :which was read and -upon motion of_Ald.Sour the following resolut on

-Whereas",_a_peti_tion has been prea_ented to_this Council_ praying, that the Southwester
Telegraph and Telephone Company give its patrons better service, and at reduced rates,
And whereas, this council desires that the citizens of Fayetteville receive the
best -possible" telephone-servi&e, -
Now therefore be it resolved by the Council of the city of r'ayetteville, Arkansas,
- - -That-the-Mayor is hereby instructed -to int'orm the manager -of tine -local telephone
exchange that the petitioners desire to meet with a representative of the company to the end
