Present Mayor and Clerk _ Aldermen _ Cornwell, Jobe, High, Sour and Absent, Aldermen Appleby,.and_Sut.tl.e,. _,_Minutes_ of_meet.ings held-Aug.__17___and_Aug. _25.,_.1911, _were .read and approved.. _- The.foilowing-letter was presented and read, writ - " Chicago, September 6, 1911. Hon.- Mayor• -and -`City Council, _ Fayetteville, Ark. Gentlemen--; -- - - In behalf of my associates and myself, and in compliance with the terms of- franchise -granted -us.-to- construct, maintain, .use and_opera-te .a Street Railway. or Railways, together with Power Plant for the purpose of operating and maintaining a system of Electric Currents for the production of Motor Poyser and Electric Lights in the City of "Fayetteville, Ark., we hereby accept said Fienchise together with all con- ditione therein contained. _ _-._ -. ...___.__--_-._ _ Very truly yours; "- -- - - _ _ .- - --- - -- --WrA.Frasser, for -himself And Associates. Appleby«and Suttle _ Same was carried Mr. -Jones submitted_an -account against the -City -caused by_a_rock-break.ing a window when. - a Center Street was being_mcadamized, which account was referred to the Finance Committee for their ivestigation. The following accounts against the City were presented and read, towit _ S.P.Rogers _- 4.50, Fayetteville Lumber Co., $115.80, W.F.Stirman-, $2.65, Eureka Fire -Hose Co., $643.00, Red Cross Drug Store, $0.75, Light Companj< $170.00, Sanford & Son, $3.83, Fayetteville Printing Co, $a.00, El. •J.Hali, $11.75, whereupon Aid. Jobe moved that said accounts be referred to„the Auditing Committee. for. their-invest"i,gation -and report, ghich_.motion was duly .seconded by,.Ald. -Right and._ adopted by the .following vote, "Ayes" _ Adprnwell, Jobe,_Hight and Sour,_ "Nays'!___ None. - absent an �• --notvotli.ng, "Aid. Appleby and Suttle." _ Carried. The reports of the City Officials for the mon h �. T. of Aug. 1911 were pre sented___and_-read towit _ City Weigh Master, Police Judge, Chief of Police, City Treasurer, Street Comr. and_Special Bisbursing agent,_which.reports upon motion of Aid. Sour y seconded by Aid. Hight were referred to the Finance Committee for their investigation and report \ _;x .Ald*,Cornwell from the Street_ Committee reported that the of $227.50 had -been coL- lected towards macadiminz West Dickson Street. The question of ordering the wooden awning.on West Dickson Street removed and cloth awning installed instead was by the Mayor referred to the Street Committee. The question of ordering in aide walk on Scott Street, was referred to the St. Com. Aid. Jobe inteeddced the following resolution, towit " Resoltion, That whereas, the School -District of Fayetteville, are not within a reasonable distance of sewer`connections with the Leverett School Building, and as they have installed in said building a complete system of 41 .a _plumbing,ndg ewer connection is -absolutely necessary -either by. septic system on -their own lot or - by building a line to a connection with the City Sewer, a distance of about 3500 feet; which woul entail -the outlay of considerable money on the part of the School District, but.whereas,-said -- School District is willing to build said sewer line with such assistance as can be had from the property owners adjacent, Be it resolved, By the City Council, that permission be granted ty the City of Fayetteville to -the -School District to construct along any street or alAy necessary to ma connection, control and own said sewer line with the rights to allow only such person to connect to said rine-as-they deem -advisable and to collect and charge such -fee -for said -connection as in their judgment they deem equitable and right and any property owner who may attach to said seeee line shall be ,exempt -from any - -improvement- district that -may be formed hereafter -for dewer purposes in this particular district, unless said district shall first acquire said sewer line from the School District "and. pay them,_the..cos.t of saidline-and refund back to any.property- owner- the amount con- tributed by him towards the building or for a connection. " _ And moved that said resolution be adopted,,which motion was -duly seconded by Aid. Sour and adopted by.the following vote., "Ayes" _ Cornwell; Hobe, Eight and Sour, "Nays" _ None, abeent and not voting, "Aid. Appleby & Suttle, Car ied,
