Suttle :Rxm move, ._ that ,the Ordinance Committee be instructed to draft an Ordinance ordering in eight foot side wa ke , on College Avenune from Center Street North to Maple Street — whereupon Aldo night offered an amendr,.en_t_.to this motion as follows, that the Eastthalf of the first block should be from proper y. line to the curb instead of eight feet, which amendment was accepted, whichumotinncwas duly second,ed_b.y Ald' .$our_and_adopted by the -following vote, "Ayes" _ Appleby, Jobe, Hight, Sour and Suttle, "Nays" — None absent and not voting, Ald. The following reports of the City Officia for the month of May _led_ to the Finance Committee.. towit _ Chief _ of Police., _City__Treasuer's Ci.ty- fere read and referred Weigh Master and Police -Judge Rev. Davis and other citzens on College Avenue appeared before the Council and pre sented a petition.asking the Council to investigate and _see if a five foot aide walk on College Avenue would not be sufficient instead of an eight foot walk which matter was referred to the - Street Committee for,their_investigation and report. His Honor suggested that a compromise could be reached with Mr. Wilson in regard -to the replacing the walk. taken ._up_by__the,City-.several month ago, i.e. Mr. Wilson,agreeing to lay a new walk if the City would pay_6i cents.per foot for that
