The report of Lee Duggans, Sput. of the Water -Works -for the quarter ending July 1, 1910 was presaented and read and on motion of Ald. Appleby, seconded by Alderman Jobe, the Goun it Prathorized Mr. W, E.Nettleship to audid said report_ and report same at his earliest convenience! �- .1. TheBoard:ofi.,;Impioafr9.s-1inpz+,Dis.tNo.f1N11submittedDthg following report :- " Fayetteville, Ark., July 13, 1910 - To The Honorable City Council, of the City of ----Fayetteville ---Come-I:G.Combs, B.F,Campbell and W.S.PoiTard,- the -Board of -Improvement Distric No. 1 of said City, and represent to your honorable body that Thomas J.Hunt, on the 8th day of ..-gay, 1909, -recovered-judgment -against said -Board -of Improvement- for -the --sum of $1500. -00 -in -the 'Fashington County Circuit Court for property condemned in said Court for septic tank and right --iof,way-of sewer -line -thereto - That pr.ior to-_ the -recovery-of_said-judgraent-this-Board-,--under-a order of the Judge of said Court, deposited the sum of $500.00 with the Clerk of said Court, which sum was on the date of the rend it ion of said judgment, ordered by said -_Court _ to_ be -paid_ Ito said Hunt. " ,"!hereupon Alderman Suttle introduced, the following resolution, towit if Whereas, it appears from the petition this day_preeented_ to_ the Council -by—the Board of Improvement of Sewer Improvement District No. One, of the City of Fayetteville, that Thomas J.Hunt recovered judrgnent against said Board on the 8th day of May-,_1909,in_t_he -+7ashin3ton Cdnouit Court -for -fifteen-hundred dollars, and coets, for land condemned by said Board for spptic tank and right of way, and no part thereof has been paid except the sum of -$500.00-, deposited by -said -Board -with the Clerk of-said`C'ourt;-and-`i't-dtirther appearing that ' said Board has on hands no funds belonging to said Sewer Improvement District, to apply on sai ._Judgment, but- has__now._on hands --certain f-unds -ar is ing- £-rom-"tlae-opera-tion -of the Water -Works -• - - Plant, which might be so used, and that in the judgment of said Board they can by January 15th - _1911 , have suffice_ int_ funds arising from_ operat ing_sa id 17ater-*:Ior.ks_Plan.t_ to-_sat.isfy_ said- j.udg __ . ment and costs; Therefore, be it resolved by the City Council that said Board of Improvement BBsti_ S-ewer-Improverrient-District No --One, be- and -they are, heretiy-authorized to apply so much of the funds arising from the operation of said Water Plant as may be necessary to pay off the said -judgment and -costs, -and -the Superintendent of said -Water Works Plant -is -authorized , upon the order of said Board to so apply said funds for such purposes. 11, which resolution was duly seconded by .Alderman Phillips- and -adopted -by the following vote-,--"-Ayes--"---Appleby; • Jobe, - -- Phillips, Sour and Suttle - "Nays" - None, absent and not voting, Alderman Hight. Carried. _ Alderman --Suttle from the Finance Committee reported-.the_follow.ing-reports for -the - month of June, 1910 from the respective officers, examined and found correct, towit 17.F. Stirman, fines collected, $22.30, Street Tax collected, $8._50,.W.A.Gregg,,_Chief of Police, '• money collected from all sources $1093.82, L.E.Hollard, as --Street Commissioner_, $308,_00.0. as Special Disbursing Agent, 262.90,which � upon motion was received, approved and ordered filed. Alderman Suttle submitted the following report in regard to the taxes assessed and collected hpon the City property for the year 1909, which is in words and figures as follows 'I - - - - i After an examined_ of the Tax-Books_for- the__year__1.9.0-9-I_find -the--total_amount - f collected forthe_City _of Fayetteville,—by--the-Sheriff., in-the-general-fund-to-be-0-7524,81, in theFire Fund to be ;$3009.9.7 and for the_Strett_ Fund_{ _Road _&_Bridge _)_to_be. 2441:t?Q.,- Which report upon_ notion was duly rec_eiv_ed_and-approved-by the-Council..--_—_ i I. Appleby were allowed by the following vote, "Ayes" - Appleby, Jobe, Phillips, Sour and - Suttle-,---'IN ays" - No absent and not voting.,-Ald._Hight=and the_ Clerk was_instructed to_draw- warrant_s_for_same, Sour and Phillips, from the Committee appointed by the Mayor_to investigate -Alderman — the approximate cost of building a City Hall, reported that from thetheY now had they____ -p_l_ans (thought the work could be done for approximately $ 4950.00, which report was recieved and filed. _ Whereupon Ald. Sour moved that the Finance_ Committee be-a ppointed_a_Commi.t.t.e.e to — investigate the financingsaid-work_and_re»�rt their findings as_so_o.n_ae_possible_, which_was — _ _duly seconded_by--Ald.._Jobe_,-and-said_C.ommittee was_so_appo_inted_and_ins.tructed.. ' _ Upon motion of Ald. Phillips and seconded by Ald. Suttle, the Council deducted $5.00 from Clerk's salary on account of his from the meeting,, tonight.
