The deed from ISrs. Josephine A.Davenport to the City of Fayetteville, conveying six
Lfeet of ground on North side of Spring Street, was presented, read and accented. The North

Arkansas Telephone Co.,-conveying_a five foot strip_of_ground on the North aide of the --F ire 4
House, together with a half interest in thew -all -of the -new Telephone BMilding -for the _con-
sideration of $ 550_.00 was presented, read and _accepted and the Clerk_ instructed_ to draw_a__
warrant for said amount of $55.0.00 ,out of the Fire Fund, in payment for same and also to _
file the deed for record. The accounts of Pollard & Pettigrew-, and Police—Judge—were—read and
referred to the Auditing Committee.

'Y Alderman Appleby, introduced an Ordinance entitled, An Qrdinance•Levying Assess=
ments on the several Blocks, Lots and Parcels of Real Property in Test Mountain Street Improvement
District No. One, of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the cost of the Improvement propose
for said District, and assessing unon the real property within the limits of said District the
amount of said cost, " and on motion said Ordinance wa.s read the first time; thereupon it was
moved by Alderman Appleby that the rules be suspended and said Ordinance be read the second time)
which raotion was seconded by Alderman Jobe, and said raotion being put to the Council was adopted ,
by the following vote, " Yeas H Ald. Appleby, Jobe, Sour, Suttle and Sedwick, " Nays " None
Absent and not voting Ald. Phillips, so said motion was declared adopted and said Ordinance was
read the second time; thereupon it -was moved by Alderman Appleby seconded by Alderman Sour,
that the rules be further suspended and said Ordinance be read the third time and placed upon its '
passage — which ,notion being submitted to a vote of the Council, carried by the following vote,
" Yeas ", Appleby, Jobe, Sour, Suttle, & Sedwick, " Nays " None, absent and not voting " Phillips"
So said motion was declared adopted the question then being shall the Ordinance pass,

for $ 2.17, was read and referred to the Auditing Co. Mr, Albert Jones, appeared before the
