HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-08-20 MinutesMINUTES OF A BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING A meeting of the Fayetteville Board of Adjustment was held at 3:45 P.M., Monday, August 20, 1979, in the Board of Directors Room, City Administration Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Carl Yates, Chester House, Larry Smith, Steve Nickles, and Bob Waldren ABSENT: Mrs. Don Mills OTHERS PRESENT: Bobbie Jones and Michelle Hale Chairman Yates called the meeting to order. The only item for discussion was a public APPEAL NO. 79-27 hearing on Appeal No. 79-27, David Griffee, 3220 DAVID GRIFFEE Navajo Court, application to vary setbacks. 3220 NAVAJO COURT There was no one present to represent or oppose this appeal. The Board of Adjustment Rules of Procedure state that: "No application for variance shall be voted upon by the Board unless the person who owns the property to which the request pertains is present, or unless the Board is satisfied that a representative of the owner, having the authority to commit the owner to compliance with any conditions which may be imposed concurrent with granting a variance, is present." The Board did not hear Appeal No. 70-27 because there was no one present to re- present. The Board was concerned, however, with the large amount of setback variances that had been brought before them after the structures were started or completed. There being no corrections or additions MINUTES to the minutes of the August 6, 1979, meeting, they were approved as mailed. Planning Administrator, Bobbie Jones asked the members if they would prefer their next meeting to be Friday, August 31 or Tuesday, September 4, in view of the fact that the first Monday in September is Labor Day and the City offices will be closed. Those present agreed that Tuesday, September 4 was preferable. There being no further business, the Board adjourned at 4:10 P.M. o'clock. U5 A
