M., Monday, June 27, 1977 in the Board of Directors Room; City Administration Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas. MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: OTHERS PRESENT: Chairman Carl Yates, David Newbern, Dr. James White, Mrs. Don Mills, Chester House, Larry Smith, Richard Osborne. None. C. E. Stamps, Jerry Stamps, Angie Medlock. Chairman Carl Yates called the meeting to order. Chairman Yates explained he had called the meeting to reconsider the variance request of C. E. Stamps. The Board had tabled his request on June 20 in order to give the applicant time to consider alternatives C. E. STAMPS Appeal No. 77-13 730 Mission to the proposed addition. C. E. Stamps and Jerry Stamps were present to represent. Chairman Yates said he had looked at the property and it would be difficult for Mr. Stamps to go to the south as the Board had thought he might do. He said the addition would cover an entrance to the basement and that would have to be relocated; also he has a well there which he still uses for irrigation of his garden. Mr. Yates said the Ordinance before 1970 would only have required a 15 foot setback from Rock- wood Trail. Dr. White said he had looked at the property and agreed with Mr. Yates. Jerry Stamps said this would add to the investment of the home. He said one of the main reasons to build this was to build a fireplace. He noted that the fireplace would economize on fuel. He said he doesn't see any reason this variance shouldn't be approved. He said Mr. Stamps had given the City right-of-way to build the road and make it a safer, better street. Chester House made a motion to approve the variance. Mrs. Mills seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Richard Osborne asked that on the minutes of June 6, 1977, on pages 4 and MINUTES 5 it read that he had to "disqualify" himself from voting rather than "abstaining" on the item. With this correction, the minutes were approved as mailed. The meeting was adjourned at 1:15 P. M. 114
