MINUTES OF A BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING 341-2
The Board of Adjustment met at 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 25, 1969
in the Directors Room of the City Administration Building, Fayetteville,
Arkansas.
Members Present: J. F. Robinson, J. F. Palmer, Ed Clement, Roy
Clinton.
Members Absent: Carl Yates.
Others Present: Harold Lieberenz, Pete Estes, Mrs. W. R. Morrison,
Reverend Be J. Willhite.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. J. F. Robinson.
The first request for a variance was submitted by Mr. William
Bassett for property located at 222 South College Avenue. The
applicant requested a variance in order to place on the lot
a mobile home on permanent foundation.
Representing the petition was Mr. Pete Estes who stated that
the 65 foot width of the lot would necessitate the building
of a long, narrow dwelling, and that he feels a mobile home
would look better.
There being no opposition and no further discussion, the public
hearing was declared closed.
The next application for a variance was submitted by Mr. We R.
Morrison for property located at 144 California Boulevard.
Representing the application was Mrs. W. R. Morrison who
stated that her husband and she wish to build a carport and that
there is no other place the carport could be built other than
onto the front of the house. The applicant is requesting a
variance for a 10 foot front setback rather than 25 feet as
required by the City Zoning Ordinance.
There being no objections and no further discussion, the
public hearing was closed.
The next petition for a variance was submitted by
Reverend Be J. Willhite for Trinity Temple Church for property
located at 1100 Rolling Hills Drive in Oakland Hills Addition.
The representatives of Trinity Temple Church stated that the
proposed buildings are: a youth activities building, a
youth recreation and study area.
The variance requested was a 10 foot side setback instead of
the 75 feet required by the Zoning Ordinance and a 30 foot rear
setback instead of the required 75 feet.

;Gl There being no opposition and no further discussion, the public
hearing was closed.
At this time, Ed Clement made a motion to approve the variance
request of William Bassett, J. F. Palmer seconded the motion
and it was approved unanimously.

Ater a lengthy discussion of the variance request of the Trinity
! Temple Church, the Board decided to approve the variance request
for a 30 foot rear setback but to grant a variance for a 30 foot
side setback instead of the 10 foot side setback requested.
Roy Clinton made a motion that the above variances be granted to
'9 the Trinity Temple Church. Ed Clement seconded the motion and
it was approved unanimously.
Roy Clinton moved that the variance request of W. R. Morrison
Y be approved. This motion was seconded by Ed Clement and approved
unanimously.
Next, the minutes of the July 21, 1969, Board of Adjustment
meeting were approved as mailed.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
4:55 p.m.
