HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-07-21 Minutes339-2 MINUTES OF A BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING • The Board of Adjustment met at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 1969 in the Directors Room of the City Administration Building, Fayette- ville, Arkansas, Members Present: J. F. Robinson, J. F. Palmer, Carl Yates. Members Absent: Roy Clinton, Ed Clement. Others Present: Dr. M. M. Henry, Harold Lieberenz, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Saville. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, J. F. Robinson. The first request for a variance was submitted by Dr. M. M. Henry Dr. M.M. Henry for property located at 204 South East Avenue om;the northeast corner of the intersection of Archibald Yell Boulevard and East Avenue. The applicant was requesting a variance in order to make a 2119" addition to an existing doctors office building which will create.a side setback of 213" on the southeast corner instead of the 101 setback required. Representing the application was Dr. M. M. Henry who stated that because of the triangular shape of the lot he could not possibly meet the 101 side yard requirement. . There being no further discussion and no objections, the public hearing was closed. The next application for a variance was submitted by Mrs. John H. John Saville Saville for property located at 675 Lindell Avenue. The applicant was requesting a variance in order to build a one family addition onto the existing one family dwelling to convert the structure into a duplex dwelling. The new addition will be connected to the existing building by a breezeway or carport. For two or more families, the street frontage as required by the City Zoning Ordinance for a R-3, Multi -Family Residential District must be 60 feet instead of the existing 50 foot street frontage. Representing the petition were Mr. and Mrs. John H. Saville. Harold Lieberenz, Building Inspector, stated that he received a call from Mrs. Goldie Johes of 675 North Garland Avenue who owns property adjoinig Mr. and Mrs. John Saville's property and she stated that she had no objections to the Saville's variance request. There being no further discussion and no objections, the public hearing was declared closed. A motion was made by J. F. Palmer to approve the variance request of Dr. M. M. Henry. The motion was seconded by Carl Yates and approved unanimously. Dr. M.M. Henry 340.2 - 2 - J. F. Palmer made a motion to approve the rezoning request of Mr. John Saville and Mrs. John H. Saville. The motion was seconded by Carl Yates • and approved unanimously. The next item of business was the approval of the minutes of the June 18, 1969 Board of Adjustment Meeting. A motion to approve the minutes was made by J.F. Palmer, seconded by Carl Yates and approved unanimously. Since no one was present to represent the variance request of the Trinity Temple Church Trinity Temple Church, the members decided to defer action on this request and to reschedule it at a later date at which time someone from the church should be present to answer questions.
