BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MINUTES

The Board of Adjustment met in a special meeting Wednesday, Marsh 29,
1967, at 4:00 P.M., in the Board of Directors Room in the City
Administration Building.
Members Present: J.F. Robinson, Wade Fincher, J.F. Palmer
Members Absent: Carl Yate, Ed Clement
Others Present: Mr. and Mrs Massey, Peter G. Estes
The meeting was called to order by Chairman, J.F. Robinson.
Mrs. Leveta R. Massey
The first application given consideration was that of Mrs. Leveta R. Massey.
Mrs. Massey explained to the Board that she would like to remodel the
existing house by adding an extension onto it and tear down an old part
on the back.
Mr. Robinson asked Mrs. Massey if the sketch prepared by the Planning
Office showed plain enough what she proposed?
Mrs. Massey said both the letter and sketch that was sent to the Board
members was sufficient in explaining the problem she had.
• There being no further question the applicant was dismissed.
The next application heard was filed by Peter G. Estes and Harold Vaughn.
Mr. Estes was present to represent the petition.
The Chairman asked Mr. Estes to explain the application for a variance
to the zoning ordinance.
Mr. Estes explained that they wanted to place a 55 foot,'1963 model house
trailer directly behind the White Star Tavern on Highway 71 South on the
front part of the lot, and is to be used to house the operator of the
business.
Mr. Estes pointed out that natural gas, city sewer and water are located
within close proximity.
Mr. Estes was excused and left the room.
After discussion of Mrs. Massey's request the Chairman suggested that
the Board defer action until such time that all members of the Board
of Adjustment could meet, and the members present agreed.
J.F. Palmer moved Mr. Estes be given a permit to place a trailer on the
lot to the rear of the tavern, providing said trailer was attached to
• the building on the lot, for example by steps and a breezeway.
This was duly seconded and unanimously carried.
There being no:Pfurther business, the meeting was adjourned.
