• BOARD OF ADJUSTI4ENT MINUTES
The
Board of Adjustment
met at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25,
1966, in
the
Directors' Room in
the City Administration Building.
Members present: J. F. Robinson, George Bowen, and J. A. Pennington.
Members absent: Wade Fincher and J. F. Palmer.
Others present: Mr. Thomas Comley, applicant.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman J. F. Robinson.
The application of Comley-Eoff, Inc., was the only one to be heard
by the Board of Adjustment. Mr. Thomas Comley, President of Comley-
Eoff, Inc., was present to discuss the request for the use of
property located on Melmar Drive,
Mr. Comley told the Board that an apartment complex was proposed.
Four of the six apartment buildings to be erected on Block 4 in Bel
Air Acres Second Addition had sufficient street frontae, lot area,
off-street parking and the proper setbacks. Two buildings, however,
are to be built behind the other buildings. These two buildings
• comply with all requirements of the zoning ordinance except for the
street frontage.
To answer a Board member's question, Mr. Comley said Melmar Drive
would be paved, curbed and guttered.
The Board members felt the applicants request was clearly understood.
There being no further questions, the applicant was dismissed.
George Bowen moved that the Board of Adjustment waive the requirements
of Article V, Section 4, Sub -section 4, Paragraph d of Ordinance No.
1239 and that the City Inspector be instructed to issue building permits
to Comley-Eoff, Inc., for the construction of two apartment buildings
located in the southern portion of Block 4 in Bel Air Acres Second
Addition. The motion was seconded by J. A. Pennington and passed
unanimously. It was the opinion of the Board that two apartment
buildings would not be detrimental to the public's interest.
The minutes of April 6, 1966, were approved as written and mailed to the
Board members.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
