The Board of Adjustment met in the City Council Room in the City Administration
Building at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 1965.
Members present: John I. Smith, J. F. Robinson, George Bowen, James Kerlin
and James A. Pennington. (All members were present.)
Others present: W. L. Heflin, applicant, and Henry Huelshorst, applicant.
applicationThe first to be heard.by the Board was that of W. L. Heflin who
requestappeared before the Board of Adjustment to
canopy type structure over ,: existing gasoline pump island in front of his
service station at 1428 South School Avenue. The wast,edge of the canopy extended

Applicant Henry HuelshorBt appeared before the Board to request permission to build
living quarters above a residential garage which was under construction. The
garage is located at -964 -Lawson Street at the,NW corner of the intersection of
Lawson Street and Oskland Avenue.
The family unit over the garage is located on a lot with approximately 27 feet
of street frontage instead of the 60 feet required by ordinance. The garage is
6 feet from the vast side yard instead of the 7 feet required by the zoning ordinance
and also the garage is 6 feet from the rear (north) property line instead of the
25 feet isquired. by the zoning ordinance.

Chairman Smith reported the -findings of*a visit to.the loca.iion of the
proposed crane run way and warehouse of Ozark Steel Compazw. J.,I. Smit)
told the Board members that after talking to James Stewart, he learned
that the railroad company required the dupports.of the proposed run way
to be 8 feet 6 inches from thi c6nter of the'spur 'azid the main track.

J. F. Robinson moved that the Board of Adjustment waive the side yard setback
requirements of the.zoning ordinande�and that the buildinginspector be
instrue 'ted to issue apermit to construct the crane run way within 10 feet

vard property line'. The motion was seconded by James Pennington and passed

James. Pennington moved'that the Board of'Adjustment not waive the side and
rear yard requirements and the street frontage requirement of the zoning
ordinance as requested by Henry Huslshorst's application. The motion was
seconded by George Bowen and passed unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
