Pennington, Mr. George Bowen, Mr, J. F. Robinson, Mr. Harold E. Lieberenz, Mr. George F. McKinney, applicant, Absent: Mr. Tom Schiewetz. The applicant, Mr. George F. McKinney of 374 Fletcher Avenue, wished to erect a 14 foot (roof measurement)carport on the southwest corner of his existing residence, which is located in a R- 1B Residential Zone of the City of Fayetteville. This carport will be on the rear of his house, and the ground will be excavated so that the roof level of the carport will be only about three feet above the ground at the back. The entire carport will be lower than the house in the rear facing Crescent Drive. The proposed carport will be approximately twenty-five (25) feet from the rear (east) property line, instead of the forty (40) feet required by the City Zoning Ordinance, Mr. Lieberenz stated that the retaining wall and the driveway, which were already built, indicated that the wall of the carport would only extend 3 or 4 feet above the ground level.
