Robinson Mr. Tom Schiewetz Mr. George Bowen Mr. James A. Pennington . Mr, Harold E. Lieberenz, Building Inspector Mr. S. T. Russell, applicant Mr. Bryce Davis appeared in behalf of Mr, Robert C. McFeeters, applicant The Minutes were approved as written. The first application was that of Mr. S. T. Russell of 434 North College Avenue. The applicant wished to hang a sign on existing sign poles, which are only 5-1/2 feet from College Avenue property line, instead of the ten feet required by the Zoning Ordinance. The sign would be approximately six feet and six inches from the ground. The Board asked about the cost of moving the sign poles back 10 feet from College Avenue line. Mr. Russell stated that it would be a matter of taking out the two poles set in concrete and setting them again; he did not know the exact cost, He also stated that other businesses in that area had signs hanging out to the street, and a few were hanging out over the street, The Board asked if the sign could be moved back to the property line on the south side of the building. Mr. Russell stated that it would cover the signs of two other businesses in the building if this were done. He said that the sign had been there ten years with nothing said about it, and he could see no reason why it could not be put back there. He also stated that there would be no place in front of his business for people to park if the sign were moved back. The Board had no further questions, and the applicant was dismissed, The Board discussed the application and the precedent which would be set if it were granted. Mr. Smith called for a vote, and the Board voted unanimously to deny the application of Mr. S. T. Russell, The next application was that of Mr. Robert C. McFeeters of 923 Woolsey Avenue. Mr McFeeters wished to build an addition to the rear (west) of his residence, which is located in a R -1B Residential Zone. The proposed addition would be only about ten feet from the property line, instead of the forty feet required by the Zoning Ordinance in this District. The house will be 30 feet from the south property line and sixty to sixty-five feet from Adams Street line. Since this is a corner lot, it crowds him too close to the West property line. Mr. Smith read letters from two residents of that area, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reese Corey and Dr, and Mrs, Harrison Butler, who stated that they had no objections to the proposed addition, The Board asked how the addition would be used. Mr. Davis stated that it would be a family room. He stated that Mr. McFeeters family was growing, and he would either have to do this or sell his house and build a new one. The Board asked if the room could be built to the south of the house, Mr. Davis stated that it would cover the driveway in this case. The Board asked about the size of the room. Mr. Davis stated that it would be about 20' x 261, and that it would have a fireplace chimney which would be about ten feet from the west property line. The Board had no further questions, and Mr. Davis was dismissed, After a discussion of the application, The Board voted unanimously to grant the application of Mr. McFeeters. --- 0 --- Mr. Schiewetz asked if the Board would object to changing the meeting time from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Other members of the Board stated that this would be much more convenient for them. The Board agreed to meet at 4:00 p.m. when there were no more than two applications. The Board adjourned at 4:30 p.m. (GI 0011
