Crocker, Sr. Council Chamber Mr. J. R. Bissett, Applicant for Variance Mr. Harold E. Lieberenz, Building Inspector Mrs. Shirley Santifer, Secretary Absent: Mr. Witt Carter The Chairman, Mr. L. M. McGoodwin, called the meeting to order and asked the Secretary to read the minutes of the previous meeting which were read and approved. Mr. Harold E. Lieberenz, Building Inspector, was asked to present Mr. Bissett's application for variance and explain what the applicant wished to do. The Variation requested by Mr. Bissett was for the use of the property located at 817 North Highland Avenue and is known as lots 10 and 11, block 5 of Al Trent's Revised Plat of City Park Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. The applicant wished to build an extension to his residence in the "A" resi- dential zone. The proposed extension to the residence will be closer to the street property line than the 25 feet required by the zoning ordinance. Mr. Mc Goodwin asked Mr. Bissett his reasons for issuance of this permit. Mr. Bissett stated the following reasons: 1. This lot slopes downhill very rapidly requiring considerable increase in wall height, if it is moved back the additional 3 feet 9 inches. 2. The four existing houses in this block all front the same distance of approximately 20 feet from the property line. 3. To move the proposed addition further away from the street would cause an offset from the existing construction which would be unsightly and unsatisfactory. Harold said that since this application had been filed he had been out to in- spect a new residence being built to the North of Mr. Bissett's residence and there was quite a slope of the lot to the West. Sy I* • Mr. Young asked Mr. Bissett if there had been any objections from anyone since this had been advertised in the paper. Mr. Bissett stated that there had beenrone.
