The.Chairman called the meeting to order and asked the Secretary to
read the Minutes of the meeting held March 5, 1953• They were approved
as read. The Chairman asked Mr. Lieberenz to present Mr. C. R. Gilbreath's
request for a variation to the Zoning Ordinance first. Mr. Gilbreath's
property is located in the East Mountain Addition and is zoned as an
"A" residential area, which requires a twenty-five (25) foot set back
from Maple Street. Mr. Gilbreath is desjsous of building a residence
six (6) feet from, or as close as possible, to the south line of Maple
Street. A discussion on the possibility at sometime in the future that
Maple Street, which is only 30' wide at the present time, in this particular
area, might be widened to 40' if carried on through, leaving Mr. Gilbreath's
property extending into Maple Street. This would definitely depreciate
Mr. Gilbreath's property if such should be the case. Mr. Young said he
felt that the Board should not pass on Mr. Gilbreath's application at
this meeting and that a further check into his problem should be made and
the members of the Board should place a specific time to go look over
the site before granting the application to Mr. Gilbreath. The time for
inspection of Mr. Gilbreath's property was placed for Monday afternoon,
June 29, at 4:30 P.M. The.next meeting of the Board was agreed upon as
to be held Friday July 33 1953, at which time a decision will be made upon
Mr. Gilbreath's application.
The second giplication of variance to be discussed was Mr. Norville York's.
Mr. York was not present to present his application. He has asked permission
to locate a house trailer on a 100'x 100' lot. There are two dwellings at
the present time on this site being estimated as being about 10,000sq. ft.
Mr. York has placed his trailer house:betwemthese two dwellings, has had
gas and electricty installed but has no sewage outlet. The ordinance
requires that for each and every dwelling there should be 7,000 square £t.
Mr. Pryor held a short discussion on the 8rdinance to clarify the rules
