Crocker Leland Bryan Heydon Lewis Clarence Young Fred O'Baugh, Applicant for Variation Ruth Anne Grisso, Secretary The Chairman called the meeting to order and asked the Secretary to read the Minutes of the meeting held January 29, 1953. They were approved as read. Mr. Fred OtBaugh, applicant for variation to the Zoning Ordinance presented his case. His property at 969 Rush Drive lies in the "A" Zone. He is desirous of erecting a carport to the side of his property which will be three and one-half feet from the property line instead of the five feet the Zoning Ordinance requires. His reasons for seeking the variation are to save the expense cf:fur- ther alterations to his house, an additional Building permit and re - terracing a portion of his property. Mr. O'Baugh stated that the adjacent property belonged to Utley and .. Company and he was told by Mr. Jasper Pyeatt that he was not opposed to the proposed carport. The Chairman reminded the Board that its function was to hold to the purposes of zoning for the value of the community regardless of agreements between property owners, unless an actual hardship or prohibition of reasonable use of land was in- volved. Mr. Young said it appeared to him that the carport could be erected five feet from the line and the members of the Board felt an examina- tion of his site would be necessary to make a fair determination. Mr. Crocker then moved that the hearing be postponed to Thursday, March 5th and that the Board make an examination of the site in the interim. Mr. Young seconded the motion and roll was called: Mr. Mc Goodwin Aye Mr. Crocker Aye Mr. Lewis Aye Mr. Young Aye The meeting adjourned to March 5, 1953 at 4:00 P.M. Approved March 5, 1953 UJ
