The Chairman stated the purpose of the meeting was to continue the hearing on the L,,;iication for variation made by Mr. G. Henbest to construct a one -family dwelling on the northwest corner of York and Leverett Streets three feet closer to York Street than the"C:' Residential 'Lone specifies. The City Engineer explained that Mr. Henbest's application for a building permit was for a 24 x 26 single damily dwelling at 808 West York to be placed twelve feet from York Street in order to save two shade trees. He stated that granting such permit would not change the character of the neighborhood in that nearpy dwell- ings are closer than twelve feet to York.Street mainly because of the fall in sewer system. Mr. Henbest stated the value of the house to be constructed would be $2500.00 and would be rental property. He informed the Board that no one had voiced any objection to his placing the house twelve feet from York Street. In considering the request the question was raised as to the ob- struction of motorists' view coming down Leverett Street. Although York is not a heavily trafficked Street at present the Board con- sidered it might be if and when it was extended across the railroad. Three of the four members of the Board prsent had viewed the site and Mr. Henbest, stated upon their question, that he would not place any shrubs which might obstruct the view on the corner of the property. Mr. Lewis moved the request for variation be granted. Mr. Young seconded the motimn and the fallowing vote was cast: Mr. L. M.
