Crocker, Sr. Leland Bryan Clarence H. Young Heydon Lewis John E. Mahaffey, City Engineer W. H. Pryor, Chairman of City Planning Commission William S. Bonner, Institute of Science and Technology, University of Arkansas Mr. Pryor acted as temporary chairman in the organization proceedings. Upon calling for nominations for Chairman and Vice -Chair- man, Mr. L. M. Mc Goodwin was declared elected Chairman and Mr. Clarence Young, Vice -Chairman. Mr. Pryor then turned over the meeting to Mr. Mc Goodwin, who called on Professor Bonner to explain the duties of a Board of Adjustment, calling particular attention to the fact that. both under Arkansas Statutes and the Fayetteville Ordinance, the Board is an administrative body and does not have legis- lative £unctions. Each member of the Board was given copies of the following documents: (a Zoning Ordinance of the City of Fayetteville (b City map of the City of Fayetteville, show- ing the various zones, together with a printed digest of the zone uses as set up by the ord- inance (c) An abstract of a speech made by Mr. Roger Arnebergh, Assistant City Attorney of Los Angeles on t'Variations" There being no further business, adjournment was had to February 263 1952, at 4:00 P.M. at the City Council Chamber, or upon call of the Chairman.
