MINUTES It was moved by Williams, second by Shipley to approve the minutes of the November 14 meeting with the correction "Williams has reservations about subsidizing free enterprise. He said it's bad for Drake Field and recommended. . . Motion carried. FINANCIAL REPORT • Brian Swain presented the financial report. Collections for November were $98,784, up 12.07% over last November. Year to date collections are $ 1 ,006,254 a 10. 16% increase. November expenses were $ 16,950. Williams noted that collections have been up every month in 1998 . Fennel said September, October and November were up direct results of the success of the football team. He expressed appreciation of Coach Nutt and the football team. Moved by Shipley, second by Williams to approve the financial report. Motion carried. CONVENTION AND VISITOR DEVELOPMENT REPORT Marilyn Johnson reviewed activity report in agenda packet. ADVERTISING AGENCY REPORT No report. OLD BUSINESS APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE \ Williams stated he does not approve hiring Town Center marketing person with the Chamber of Commerce contract. Shipley moved to accept the contract minus the marketing person section, second by Waselues. Motion carried • • APPROVAL OF 1999 BUDGET Shipley moved to accept the 1999 budget with $ 100,000 Chamber contract and $21 ,240 for marketing person put on separate lines, second by Williams. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Fennel reported that Holiday Hoops was a great success. The numbers at the door were bigger. The contract with the Chamber of Commerce was very successful. Williams thanked the Commissioners for tolerating him for two years. He expressed appreciation for moving the A & P meetings to City Hall and said he had enjoyed serving with Commission members. Fennel thanked Williams for serving on the Commission and said he appreciated his hard work. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Crosson, Administrative Services Director DATE: January 6 , 1999 1111 RE: 1998 Budget Rollforwards After reviewing the 1998 budget status with Marilyn Johnson, the five following 1998 rollforwards are requested to be approved and made a part of the 1999 Advertising & Promotion Commission budget. All other remaining projects and line items are either complete or not needed. The requested rollforwards were estimated as being spent in 1998 , therefore, there will be no impact on the fund balance position presented to the Commission when the 1999 budget was approved .
