Adjourn a 7 March 1 , 1996 TO : A & P Commissioners FROM : Marilyn Johnson RE : Reschedule time of March meeting to 11 : 00 a . m . A Coopers & Lybrand representative will be in town on Monday, March 11 to discuss preliminary findings of the Feasibility Study . In order to make full use of him and his time in Fayetteville , we are asking that the A & P Commission meeting be moved to 11 : 00 a . m . so that he can present findings to the whole Commission . If this will not work with your time schedule , please call me ( 521 - 1710 ) . After presentation of information to the Commission , the Exhibit Hall sub- committee will meet at noon for a working lunch with Wittenburg , Delony and Davidson and Coopers apd Lybrand representatives . Subcommittee members are Fennel , Kaylor , Jerde , and Shipley . Other A & P Commission members are invited to attend . MONTHLY REPORTS : MINUTES It was moved by Waselues , second by Shipley that the minutes of the January 8 meeting be approved . Motion carried . FINANCIAL Ben Mayes presented the financial report for January . HMR collections for were $ 76 , 738 an increase of 2 . 428 over January 1994 collections . January expenditures were $ 84 , 647 . A revised/unaudited expenditure report for 1995 was presented . Moved by Shipley , second by Jerde to approve the January financial report and revised 1995 expenditure report . Motion carried . ACTIVITY REPORT Marilyn Johnson reviewed January activities of Convention Visitor Development . Total inquiry responses for January were up slightly . Activity included working with tour groups and monitoring of on premise consumption petition drive . Moved by Shipley , second by Waselues to approve the Convention Visitor Report . Motion carried . AGENCY REPORT Susan Stirewalt presented agency report . Press releases have been sent out focusing on the Old and New in Fayetteville . Three new ads for spring were shown . Texas Monthly has offered advertisers a chance to go onto the Internet on a . six month trial basis for $ 800 . Replies will be available via E- mail or labels . Moved by Jerde , second by Shipley to approve the agency report . Motion carried . OLD BUSINESS : AAAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT BID Marilyn reported that Fayetteville lost the AAAA tournament bid to Ft . Smith . They are going to bid on the state tournament . NEW BUSINESS : JOE MARTIN MEMORIAL STAGE RACE John Lewis presented a request for $ 5 , 555 to pay for advertising for the race . Bicycle race expects to attract 500 - 600 racers on May 5 - 6 , and a total of 1 , 200 people . Moved to approve request by Shipley , second by Hanna . Motion carried . ON PREMISE CONSUMPTION ELECTION John Gilliam announced that an election for on-premise consumption in restaurants and hotels would be held March 26 . Moved by Jerde , second by Waselues to support a FOR vote in the On -Premise Consumption election . Motion carried . MISCELLANEOUS Trolley Operations Report was presented . Hanna reported that • they were still getting input from the community . Schedule of the trolley would change if the need is there . City is also cooperating with student government at the University to run the trolley on weekends . Letter from 4 State Ancestor Fair was discussed declining the offer to use the trolleys . There being no further business , the meeting was adjourned .
