AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND § 174.07 PLACING SIGNS
ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PROPERTY OF THE UNIFIED
DEVELOPMENT CODE BY ADDING A PROVISION
AUTHORIZING THE USE OF SMALL BANNERS ON CITY
LIGHT POLES SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR SUCH
BANNERS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1 : That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby
amends § 174.07 Placing Signs on Public and Private Property by adding a new
subsection (E) as shown below:
"(E) Small banners on certain city light poles.
Regardless of any other provision within Chapter 174:
Signs, the City may prepare and install banners not
exceeding seven square feet on city light poles specially
designed and constructed for such banners within the
boundaries of the Downtown Master Plan Area. These
small banners may include the name of the commercial or
noncommercial enterprise sponsoring the banner, but shall
contain no advertising or slogans of the sponsor."

The City Council passed an ordinance, September 21 , 2004, amending § 174.07
of the Code of Ordinances, regarding small banners. I have attached a copy of
that ordinance.
The ordinance will be recorded in the city clerk's office and microfilmed . It will
also be published as required by state law.
If anything else is needed please let the clerk's office know.
