AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL §32.02 MEETINGS
OF THE CODE OF FAYETTEVILLE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas sets its
meeting time, date, and substitute date within its Rules of Order and Procedure
so that §32.02 of the Fayetteville Code is superfluous and partially inconsistent
with the Rules of Order and Procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1 . That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
hereby repeals §32.02 Meetings. of the Fayetteville Code in its entirety.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas sets its
meeting time, date, and substitute date within its Rules of Order and Procedure
so that §32.02 of the Fayetteville Code is superfluous and partially inconsistent
with the Rules of Order and Procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1 . That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
hereby repeals §32.02 Meetings. of the Fayetteville Code in its entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
hereby determines that with the passage of a Resolution to amend its Rules of
Order and Procedure to begin its meetings at 6:00 P.M. (rather than 6:30 P.M.
pursuant to §32.02), it is necessary for the preservation of public peace, health
and safety that this ordinance become effective immediately upon its passage to
ensure City Council actions taken before 6:30 P.M. during the next two City
Council meetings cannot be challenged. Therefore, the City Council hereby
declares this ordinance being necessary to preserve the public peace, health, and
safety, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from the date of its passage and approval.
