HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 4265 ORDINANCE NO, 4265 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 168: FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION CODE, OF THE CODE OF FAYETTEVILLE, TO ADOPT THE FLOOD HAZARD STUDY, PHASE II, PROVIDED BY THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS FOR USE IN MANAGING FLOODPLAINS WITHIN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE; AND TO UPDATE THE FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1 . That Chapter 168: Flood Damage Prevention Code, Section B., of the Code of Fayetteville, is hereby deleted and the following shall be inserted in its stead: B. The Flood Insurance Study for the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, dated July 21 , 1999, with accompanying Flood Insurance Rate Map, as may from time to time hereafter be amended, is hereby adopted by reference and made a part hereof as if set out fully herein. Three copies of said map shall be maintained in the office of the City Clerk C. The Flood Hazard Study, Phase II, provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is hereby adopted by reference and made a part hereof as if set out fully herein. Attached you will find a letter from the Corps addressed to Mayor Hanna which details the items included in this study. In order for the City to use this data, it is necessary for the City Council to approve an ordinance approving the new study as a supplement to the City's Flood Insurance Study which was adopted by ordinance January 7, 1997.
