ORDINANCE NO. 4002
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE OVERSIZING OF A
WATER MAIN BEING RELOCATED AS PART OF THE
CONSTRUCTION PLANS FOR THE GLENNWOOD
SHOPPING CENTER DEVELOPMENT ; AND
AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FOR SUCH WATER MAIN
RELOCATION OVERSIZING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the City Council hereby waives the requirements of competitive
bidding for the oversizing of a water main relocation required as part of the construction plans
for the Glennwood Shopping Center Development for the reason that said requirements are not
feasible or practical . The relocation of the existing 12 inch water main is designed by the
developer's engineer and the developer has agreed to modify the water main relocation to
include a 24 inch water line with the city paying only for the oversizing.
Section 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes payment for oversizing of
approximately 640 if of water line, and associated fittings and valves, from 12 inch diameter
to 24 inch diameter along Highway 265 at the Glennwood Shopping Center. The cost shall not
exceed $40,000 with the final costs to be reviewed and approved by the City Engineer.
