AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 33 :
DEPARTMENTS , BOARDS , COMMISSION , AND
AUTHORITIES; CABLE BOARD, §33 .206(A), CREATION
AND COMPOSITION, OF THE CODE OF FAYETTEVILLE,
TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CABLE BOARD
MEMBERS TO A TOTAL OF SEVEN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Chapter 33 : Department, Boards, Commission, and Authorities;
Cable Board, §33 .206(A), Creation and Composition, of the Code of Fayetteville, is hereby
repealed and the following shall be inserted in its stead:
CABLE BOARD
§33 .206. Creation and Composition.
(A) There is hereby created and established the Fayetteville Cable Board
(hereinafter) "the Board"), which shall consist of seven members appointed by
the City Council . Members shall be residents of the city and shall have resided
therein for at least six months prior to their appointment. The term of office for
members shall be two years. However, two of the Board's initial members shall
serve only one year, so as to provide for staggered membership terms. Upon
making the initial appointments to the Board, the City Council shall conduct a
drawing to determine the two members who will serve one-year terms.
Vacancies in an expired term shall be filled by the City Council for the
remainder of the term.
