AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF
ADDITIONAL DISK STORAGE (DASD) FOR THE AS/400
COMPUTER SYSTEM AND APPROVING THE PURCHASE
OF THE ADDITIONAL DISK STORAGE (DASD) FROM
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the City Council hereby waives the requirements of competitive
bidding for the purchase of additional disk storage (DASD) for the AS/400 computer system
for the reason that said requirements are not feasible or practical because the additional disk
storage (DASD) is an expansion of an existing system and International Business Machines
offers the only equipment that is one hundred percent compatible.
Section 2 . That the purchase of additional disk storage (DASD) for the AS/400
computer system from International Business Machines Corporation is hereby approved. A
copy of the written quote is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and is made a part hereof.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 7th day of May 1996.
