ORDINANCE NO. 3 9 6 6
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
FORMAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE
OF A USED 15/24 PASSENGER DIESEL POWERED BUS.
THIS UNIT WILL BE UTILIZED BY THE COMMUNITY
ADULT CENTER.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1 . That the City Council hereby waives the requirements of formal
competitive bidding for the purchase of a used 15/24 Passenger Diesel Powered Bus. This unit
will be utilized in the Community Adult Center Transportation Program. As said requirements
would prevent purchase of a used unit as dealers do not find it practical to hold such used units
for the time necessary to comply with formal bid requirements. Therefore, it would not be
feasible or practical to take and award a formal competitive bid.
Section 2. The City Council hereby waives the requirements of formal competitive
bidding for the disposal of Unit #277, 1986 Ford E-350/National-VIN 1FDKE30L7GHB23789.
This unit will be utilized as a "trade in" on the replacement unit listed in Section 1 . Said
limitations imposed by bidding requirements would prevent purchase of a used unit utilizing
our unit as a trade as dealers do not find it practical to hold such used units for the time
necessary to comply with formal bid requirements. Therefore, it would not be feasible or
practical to take and award a formal competitive bid.
Section 3 . The total number of units involved in this purchase will not exceed 1 unit.
Section 4. The City Council hereby authorizes representatives of the Fleet Operations
Division and Parks and Recreation Department to evaluate, compare and finalize a
recommendation to the Equipment Committee upon unanimous approval to purchase an
appropriate used unit "on, the spot" utilizing the trade in at a total cost not to exceed $30,400.
Section 5 . The City Council hereby authorizes the Equipment Committee to review
the recommendation for final approval prior to submission to the Mayor.
Section 6. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to review the
recommendations of the Equipment Committee prior to final approval to purchase.
